Cave Hotel SAKSAGAN is an old cave Cappadocian house turned into an inn in 1983 and restorated in 2002. At the moment it is a small boutique hotel with 12 en-suite rooms that offer you history, nature and culture altogether and is ready to become your own home in Göreme. Rooms are located within fairy-chimneys and carved into rocks. All the rooms are clean, spacious, and decorated in the Ottoman Style by owner Osman Atak. “Although it wasn’t easy to work in the fairy-chimneys, because they are very tough, we achieved to set up the rooms and bathrooms into the fairy-chimneys with the help of modern devices” says Mr. Osman. Cave Hotel SAKSAGAN has a wonderful garden with the smells of hundreds of different flowers. The hotel is also known as “Garden of Piraye Hanım” by Turkish people after taking part in the common film series “Asmali Konak”. Breakfast in Cave Hotel SAKSAGAN is served either on the terrace, with its magical Göreme view, or in the garden accompanied with birds in songs. Special dinner parties or BBQ can be arranged on request. The hotel has 24 hours reception and provides hospitality at its best.

A great place to stay in Göreme. The rooms were clean and great. What made this place so special was the host Ugur and his brother. Great people and they helped with everything. Would 100% stay here again and recommend for anyone to stay. They helped with everything. Anything we wanted they got. For example: alcohol, food, hookah, set up all the excursions.

I would give this hotel a neutral rating. The outdoor gardens, rooftop terrace, and the hotel lobby and breakfast area are all very cute, well-kept and quaint. But the actual room was more to be desired. One of our beds was in very bad condition (completely sunk, and hard things poking up), so my son had a very difficult time sleeping on it the first night. Of course, we didn't know until he tried to lay down and we informed the hotel and they said they can bring us a new bed the next day because it's at a different hotel. So unfortunately, my son had to sleep in it for one night (very uncomfortable sleep). The bathroom is probably our biggest criticism. The hotel pictures did not show the bathroom at all. there was one photo of one bathroom that seemed to show a sink and a separate shower, but when we arrived, we noticed a very small bathroom with sink and toilet and a shower that had no separate curtain or glass compartment. So when we took a shower, the entire bathroom would get all wet with water splashed everywhere. This was quite inconvenient. We didn't have waterproof slippers to walk into the bathroom when it was wet. And the bathroom smelled a bit moldy. The bathroom door near the bottom had old moldy wood from the inside of the bathroom. Overall, everything else was okay. The breakfast buffet was simple Turkish style. We liked the Gozleme that was made for us every morning (Turkish style flat bread stuffed with ingredients - cheese and dill). Our room also did not have any TV. We had the family room, on the ground floor, so just beware. I believe they are still renovating the place, so that could be the reason. Having said that, the owner was a very polite gentleman and spoke good English. The best part of this hotel is its location - it's in walking distance to everything in Goreme (restaurants, shopping, and even the bus stop which can take you to other towns in Cappadocia).

Sleep Quality
Room Tip: avoid the family rooms. Perhaps the normal standard double rooms, etc. are better.

Cave hotel saksağan was a beautiful part of our vacation with my boyfriend. They were hospitable and very kind. They helped us a lot. Şaban bey and his wife was very friendly. This is not a luxury hotel but the warmness inside of it was excellent and enough for us. Our room was clear. It was a little bit small but were already outside all the day. The amazing view of garden made us so happy. We drunk our glass of spectacular capadocia wine in the garden. Besides this, the breakfast was excellent! Everything was homemade. They were so gentle and serving us all the time tea and Gözleme (delicious turkish pancake!) I strictly recommend Cave hotel Saksağan! Send my regards to all those very kind and smiley employees in there!

A super friendly place with a great hospitality and a really nice view. The prices are really reasonable for the place and it depends on the season too. Also they're super generous, I booked a standard room but they gave me a nice cozy cave room ! I'd give it a 4 out of 5!
