Had a lovely 3 night stay here. Extremely friendly team and very clean. Our room was beautiful and a great experience, would definitely recommend staying here and just a few minutes walk to the square with a variety of restaurants and shops.

I was lucky enough to wake up at this charming boutique cave hotel on the first morning of 2022. Set in the picturesque unspoiled village of Ortahisar, Elaa Cave hotel is tiny, immaculate and exquisitely decorated, with a special focus on local antiques and authentic Turkish rugs. I can’t speak highly enough about the delightful, friendly and kind staff. The calm and cosy cave arch room was the perfect counterpoint to the evening’s celebrations. After a sound sleep in the very comfortable bed, and a delicious made-to -order breakfast, 2022 looked very positive indeed.

The Ella Cave Hotel provided a warm and friendly vibe, and a comfortable place from which to explore Goreme and Cappadocia. We were first-time visitors to Turkey and loved the authentic experience of staying in a hotel carved out of rock. The owner, Ruth Lockwood and her cheerful team of Neesha and Ahmet happily organised tours and transit; and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Ruth’s other business, Tribal Collections was also well worth a visit after we read about it the Lonely Planet guide to Turkey. Here we found a range of interesting rugs produced by local women. Ruth’s knowledge of rug-making and what to look for is encyclopaedic.

We booked 2 rooms directly with the hotel for our stay in Cappadokya. When we arrived in the afternoon there was a young boy at the reception and the receptionist spoke with us at the phone. Firstly we were shown 2 rooms in the main building, then we were rerouted to the Elaa Suites building, about 200mt further, where one room was shown to us and it was ok. Therefore we move with all luggages to the Suites building. We discovered then that the second room was half the size of the other room and very dark. We asked to have a larger rooms, so we moves our luggage to a bigger room, available only for that night. On the second day we had to move all luggage again to the small room and the third day we decided to leave the hotel. Breakfast is organized with a small and crowded self service table at the first floor and few seats (not enough to accomodate all the guests of the rooms when it's raining or cold) and a terrace on the 2nd floor with 2 sun umbrellas, one is not standing still. Carrying food and drinks on the terrace is made by guests. Not very comfortable on small stairs.

We stayed at one of the delicately restored cave rooms on the hilltop, overlooking a part of the lovely Ortahisar village, We woke up to an amazing view, with birds singing, in a very calm and quiet surrounding, but still minutes away from all the famous highlights. The room was very charming, elegantly decorated and super-clean, and we also had a . We found the bed and pillows to be extra comfy after a long day of hiking and stair-climbing in touristic areas. And thanks to our hosts Cemal and Ruth, we felt like we were home; they made sure that we had more than everything we need

The hotel is great but impossible to get a hold of any staff to book the accommodation, had to call 3 different numbers for 3 hours before they picked up the phone. when we checked out of the hotel I had forgotten couple of dress's and my husband left few pieces of clothing behind the bathroom door. We tried calling so many times but we couldn't get a hold of anyone, finally got a hold of someone and a man took my number and he said to call back and that they will pass the message to manager of the hotel, never got a call back . I kept calling for 4 days finally a man picked up and basically he said sorry we cannot do anything about it and no one has found anything, In reality is either the staff took them or they just didn't even bother looking for it. In normal circumstances a hotel would keep the item for few days and if no one calls for them they get rid of it. when we checked in the hotel room someone had left a pair of pants in the closet so how is it that my clothing just went missing. I'm very disappointed by the experience that started so good and ended so bad and unfortunately would not recommend anyone to a place like that.

This hotel is absolutely lovely. The owners, Ruth and Cemal are very hospitable, and together with their team will ensure you have a lovely stay in their beautiful cave hotel. Each room individually decorated with trukish antiques. The beds are comfy and you have a coffee and tea making facility for when you want to have your cuppa tea. The breakfast is lush and typically Turkish, which in my opinion is one of the best breakfasts in the world. You have an amazing view from the roof terrace over ortahisar. If you are looking for a quiet get-away in Cappadocia, then Ella cave is the best place to go.

I have to say this was a hidden gem in Ortahisar within Cappadocia. The rooms were very rustic and authentic for a true Cappadocia experience. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable about what we should explore in the area. I truly appreciated their dedication in being a concierge and arranging for activities while ensuring that we enjoyed ourselves.
The views from the rooftop are stunning in the daylight and evening.
The breakfast was very Turkish and yummylicious.

Nehisda is a great host. It cares about the comfort of its guests and the breakfast is diverse. You have free coffee at any time. The bathroom is spacious and the bed is big. In addition, it is easy to walk to the center. You have Wi Fi in your room and another on the terrace, which makes the connection faster. I will return when I return to Cappadocia
