We arrived at the Forum hotel in the early hours of Monday 11th April, we paid a deposit for the safe, the gentleman that greeted us was very accommodating and even allowed us to change from room 103 to a room overlooking the main strip. As we where staying in B&B as the website stated there was no SC apartments left even though there was less that 20 guests there throughout our stay! our breakfast consisted of a boiled egg, bed rolls & a huge plate of salad, there was no tea or coffee to help yourself to. That was the first & last time I had breakfast in the hotel. The staff to begin with was very accommodating, However, it could be difficult to locate them when they are not manning the reception area. We asked for a telephone in our room, we was given one but it didn’t work, they gave us another one with the same problem, the hairdryer did not work & the door to our room was faulty which they said would repair but didn’t.

Negatives
The room was not cleaned to a good standard, however bins & towels where changed everyday.
Our safe box locked on 3 occasions & could not access it, staff would offer to open it but would pick a time when we were on our way out.
I saw the Jet2 rep once, he didn’t introduce himself & answered a phone call whilst my partner was in mid conversation with him & walked off
Olman the young Italian guy (so he said) was over friendly and crossed the boundaries on a few occasions, such as;
1. Using provocative language
2. Asking me for cigarettes for himself & his boss
3. Asking to come to our room once he’d finished work to have a drink
4. Asking my partner to put money behind the bar until we left
5. Chose not to take it seriously when I said I had slipped in the bathroom due to a leak in the ceiling & hitting my elbow.

I personally would not stay at this hotel again, however, it may be exactly what someone else is looking for.

The reviews for this hotel does not do it justice, please try it yourself before making any judgement, as this almost put my parents off booking, They are so elated that they came to The Forum Residence.
I am a travel agent and have been sending my mum and dad to Turkey for almost 20 years.
The praise my parents had for this hotel is fantastic, they have recently have just come home, They stayed almost 4 weeks as my dad was very unwell and hospitalised in Turkey, the care and compassion shown to my Mum, whilst dad was poorly from the hotel staff was out of this world, every single member of staff could not do enough for her, and made her feel safe and at home, The hotel manager made sure she was well looked after as well as all reception staff. The rooms were cleaned daily, and were spotless, Free Wifi in the rooms, the location is very good, breakfast although fairly basic you could still make a meal out of it, the pool area is lovely and also great value for money. Do not let the negative reviews put you off. We cannot thank you enough as a family for looking after our Mum and Dad, I'm sure they will see you all again soon xxx

Overall our stay at the Forum Residence was excellent. All the staff were really friendly and our room was nice and spacious, with new towels provided every day. The pool area was never too busy which added to the laid back atmosphere of the hotel and if you wanted to explore it is in a great location for accessing the Beach (5 minutes walk) or the historic centre of Marmaris (40 minutes walk or an affordable public bus). The only slight negatives would be the breakfast selection was a little lacking (but no more so than other comparable Turkish hotels) and any poolside drinks/food needed to be purchased using a top up smart card which could be inconvenient, however you could get any unused credit returned at the end of your stay. While other larger hotels may provide better entertainment and facilities targeted for children, if you are a couple of any age, this is a nice quiet hotel I would definitely recommend.

We came to the Forum Residence for 4 days as family of 20 and have just returned. My first impression was good, overall the general decoration was good and the pool looked nice. We stayed in a family room with one double bed and 2 singles. The room is quite nice but basic and the bathroom is a little run down and needs a refurbishment. We were on the ground floor and we had a balcony but there were so many stray cats around we could not leave the doors open as one cat tried to get in the room.
There is a kettle in the room but they do not provide and tea, milk or coffee. Also the cups provided are so small. Our beds were made most days but the room was not cleaned one time we were there.

The lights in the corridors are motion centred and only stay on for a few seconds which can leave you in the dark trying to open your bedroom door.

You had to pay extra for the air con and managed to get the price down to £22 for 4 days. Air con was advertised as free when we booked, but when we told them that they ignored us. The air con was not very affective. You also have to pay extra for the safe key. We didn’t do this so don’t know how much it costs.

In the morning we got up for breakfast as the hotel is a b&b. The choices were minimal with one hot food item - scrambled eggs, and a small assortment of cheeses, hams, melon, jam, chocolate spread, honey and juice, tea and coffee.

There is a restaurant on site which we only used for breakfast so we can’t comment on this but you have to use a pre paid card to buy food and drinks.

The pool area is nice and lots of sun beds available all the time. The main pool is very deep and there is a kids pool. The water temperature was nice.

The hotel is very close to the beach 5 mins down the road and the beach is really lovely. Shops are also very close. There is a blue port bus that goes into Marmaris centre every few mins for 10 Lira per person.

The holiday was spoilt for us when one day my daughter left her phone on the table at breakfast. It was never seen again and no staff had apparently seen it. On our arrival home we tracked it and it was still in Marmaris.

Overall it is not a bad hotel but breakfast could be much improved as well the cleaning and stopping all the extra things you have to pay for. We’re upset somebody took our phone and did not hand it in.

Shocking hotel, we got given the worst room overlooking the other building and other people's rooms literally 4ft away so no privacy, curtains barely closed properly which didn't help. Sockets were hanging off the walls, bed uncomfortable and dirty stained sheets. They never cleaned the room properly it was still dirty especially the floors my feet were always dirty off it. Shower was useless barely stayed on the wall and when you turned it off it would fly off the wall and early knock you out. Also no hot water 1st thing in the morning so no good if you are up early for trips etc you are having a cold shower. As if all that wasn't bad enough you have to pay extra for Aircon that's really noisy and sounds ancient

Myself and my partner arrived on the 15th of July late at night. The member of staff on the reception was lovely when he showed us to our room which was very spacious we had a double bed and two single bed for just the two of us slightly disappointed with where our balcony was but that wasn’t really an issue. We found the air con and the safe to be expensive but still paid for it as we had brought all cash and it was over 40 degrees every day. The staff are lovely here especially the geordie women on the bar she was amazing help! And the rest of the staff on the bar were absolutely lovely too. Although breakfast is limited if you want a full English breakfast its cheap enough to go down the street and get one.
Pool is nice and clean and no one gets up at 4 in the morning to put there towels out there’s always beds free!
However if you have a later transfer you only get to keep your room till five (if you are able to) which is a little annoying when we didn’t get picked up till quarter too 8 the reception is made out of glass so it’s like sitting in a boiling hot green house we ended up doing laps of the local supermarket for aircon

We enjoyed this hotel and if we come back to Marmaris this is where we will be staying

Just stayed here for a 7night break! If you are looking for a no frills hotel and reasonably priced you could have difficulty finding fault! Located with easy access to many shops and restaurants and 5 mins to the beach, altho crossing a busy road! Rooms are really spacious and cleaned daily. Breakfast is repetitive but adequate. Swimming pool is lovely with adequate beds and umbrellas and never too busy on our stay. Staff are very helpful. My main con would be that guests use the seating area outside the restaurant as a changing area climbing in and out of the pool which somewhat lowers the tone as who wants someone drying themselves off with towels on the table next to you if you are eating/drinking! Hotel staff should enforce this standard. Altho notices are in place regarding showering prior to entering the pool very few people adhered to this ruling

My partner and I were looking for a location to offer us a relaxing, peaceful and "minimal noise" holiday, and we definitely found it at the Forum Residence.

Our room was fine, with a great balcony view, it was clean and the cleaning ladies were fab with a big daily smile. Breakfast was ok, a bit samey, but the daily scrambled egg was tasty. The bar menu was good, quite pricey in the evenings, there were lots of cocktails to try. We loved the pool, plenty of sunbeds and everything you need nearby.

A couple of minor improvements would be a bit more diversity in the music played... too much Whitney Houston! The hotel could also offer one evening something different, like a dance hour, karaoke, just something lively on one evening.

All in all it was great and we are returning next year.

This hotel was just what was needed for me and my family. It is well located close to beach, shops ( the one downstairs is good for everything souvenirs wise) , miggros (food supermarket) next door, McDonald’s next door, taxi rank next door (incase walking becomes to much) and a handy temp display outside incase you want to send home pics to make them jealous!.
The hotel itself is very clean with all you need to relax and unwind the pool is very inviting the bar is well stocked and the staff are amazing special mention to the night receptionist who always had a smile and a chat when you arrived and left and was so helpful with all our concerns as was Suzzie in the bar/restaurant who greeted us by name from day 1 and always asked if all was ok! Having stayed in many places around marmaris I would say this place has to be the best for atmosphere (relaxed) and welcoming (not pushy or in your face)

Didn’t expect luxury for what I paid but this hotel needs a total facelift! The staff are all lovely and work really hard but the building itself is rundown and needs money spent on it, loads of guests had to change rooms after being allocated an inferior room initially, us included. Unless you get a balcony overlooking the pool they’re useless, rooms down the side of two blocks with balconies overlooking each other so no privacy. Lots of Turkish and European families stayed during my visit which was marred by a kid from wales who thought the entire hotel would appreciate his taste in loud music by the pool, marmaris is no longer cheap either I wish I’d paid a little more and gone somewhere a lot better! Pics show dirty old sunbeds, cracked shower tiles and a yellow pillow
