Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

*The owners are watching* conserge Paula told us the morning my 7 yr old intended to take home 6 tea bags of different flavors from the breakfast table. "The owners are watching the guests every move through CCTV and they don't accept this behaviour". Paula is also ready to meet your every need with the postnet machine in hand, are you tired and thisty of climbing 3 flights of stairs to your room in a 104 F weather? No problem, Paula will charge you about 1USD for a 17OZ water bottle or suggest you try tab water. So you better hit the Economico Supermarkets a few blocks down. Also, make sure you don't drink too much water in the breakfast table, because they will call you off on that too. Complimentary breakfast consists on pastry and salted bread and coffee. A bit of yogurt and milk. No fruit, no eggs, no protein in any shape or form. And remember not too take too much because you are being watched. Swimming pool water is warm, like taking a splash of your own, and every other guest's sweat. Not very nice with 104F weather. Don't dare to complain about this to Paula, who will be very disrespectful of her elders and guests shouting she has to charge extra for everything no matter the situation. Also she might as well don't have teeth, I've never seen her smile, she's ready to scold you if she believes you've been in the lobby for too long or visited other guest's room even you are related to them and came in a party. She doesn't find this acceptable and it's ready to challenge all your explanations in a very opinionated and loud voice. She's certainly got an attitude of a jail guard, she'll make a perfect fit. On the other hand, very cool creepy old fashined funeral car in the garage.

For everyone who wants to visit the beautiful and quiet city of Colonia this hotel is a nice place to stay at. Rooms are clean and not too small. Breakfast is tasteful and the staff very friendly. Perhaps rooms could be a bit brighter and colourful, but all in all a very good hotel which I could recommend.

the hotel and the room were very clean. It was very calm at night. The room was comfortable, with nice mahogany doors. Internet was fast and worked well. Breakfeast was fine. We could enter early (11:00AM instead of 2:00PM.)

We loved the swimming pool and that's it. Poor breakfast, only bread and biscuits, no fruits, nothing for diabetics. Rooms needing maintenance and they don'tseparate nonsmoking rooms from smoking ones.

Well, as a backpacker this place was just an emergency solution, because it was an Argentinian holiday and all other options in town were booked out and it rained cats and dogs. It was extremely expensive, 80 US$ for one night. Well, my mistake, as I didn't book in advance. Nevermind I tought, at least I could catch up with everone back home, make some calls, send pictures... but there was no wifi in the room, just down at the lobby. The bathroom is very small and there is no shampoo in the shower. The breakfast at least was ok with (finally) a good jam in South America. Staff is nice.

We had low expectations of this place after reading these reviews. The place is smart, though not the most modern property we've stayed in. Everything was clean. The air conditioning was silent and worked well. The room was big enough and quiet... We had noisy people in next to us but we couldnt hear through the walls. The pool was nice but it wont be long until this needs renovation. The breakfast was fine - nothing special but there was plenty of it. The staff - well, the front desk need to be more attentive, they are unfriendly and once you are checked in, they dont engage with you. The housekeeping ladies are lovely - we dont speak Spanish but we managed to have several chats with them in broken Spanish - especially as they take you to your room, rather than reception and they were always super friendly. It was a bit pricy we thought. But the location is great if you are coming off the ferry.

Stayed in this hotel as it was booked when we purchased our ferry tickets from Buenos Aires. The hotel is clean, bed comfy but nothing else. No safe in room, wifi patchy, no fridge, hairdryer etc and no facilities for tea/coffee. We paid $180 per night which was waaaaaaaay overpriced and then were charged extra for tea and coffee (outside of breakfast). Would not recommend if you want more than a bed (I.e for somewhere that feels nice to come back to).

Within walking distance of all the old town sites- free parking in an enclosed secured garage. Friendly staff, breakfast buffet adequate (coffee was very good). Bed was medium- not firm and not soft- I have a bad back and it did not bother me for 1 night. Rooms are on the small side, but plenty of space if you don't plan on camping out in the room. The bathroom in my room was tight- if you are a large person you may have trouble sitting on the toilet. I was in a main hallway near the reception desk and was worried about noise, but heard nothing all night. Has a small desk that is easy to pick up and move to wherever an elect. outlet is needed to work on your laptop. Not perfect but for what you pay it's a great value. Free wifi.

Staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. The swimming pool area is amazing and apparently clean. Location is just perfect. The bedrooms are terrible: too small, too noisy and very old. The bed is too soft that we got a backache. The shower was the worse I've ever seen in life.

just a short walk from the ferry terminal and bus station. Hotel Leoncia is clean but smells of cigarettes. Small bathroom, nowhere to put clothes other than on the floor, safe, desk, swimming pool, good security. Breakfast is included in the tariff. Just off the main street, we found it very convenient to visit the touristy things, waterfront and restaurants. Thought the tariff at $93US was a bit over the top, although it is in a convenient location if catching the ferry or moving on by bus. Would stay again if it didn't smell so much of cigarettes.
