The place has a good location close to the historic center and right on the main street where you can find all restaurants and shops. It was also rather cheap, like 30 euros for a private room occupied by 2 people, incl. breakfast. The room was simple, but quite big and the beds were comfortable. No airco or ventilator, so...

Don't expect luxury or comfy beds, but the showers were great (once you left them long enough to heat up). Location is perfect, really near the centre and walking distance from everything. They also have a connection with a local who takes people out on horse treks, you ride through the local countryside and on the beach! I absolutely LOVED...

Cheap variant at Colonia del sacramento just at the centre near historical quartier and ferry station. Modest furnitured room, quiet despite centre, normal breakfast in the patio of hostel. Budget choice for one night.

We arrived, asked for 4-bed-dorms (doubles were full), paid and when we arrived in the room, it was a 6-bed dorm. When we went back to the counter, she said, yes, 4-bed dorms are full.. Frustrating!! (I even asked in Spanish!) The wall where the bed stood against was so dirty, someone puked against it. Found out the next morning...

This is the best wifi in South America! The hostel and rooms are super cute and charming, but, the staff have a bunch of kids that are REALLY noisy and scream-y at night and their cartoons were turned on at 6am at a ridiculously loud volume. Also, the bathrooms are very dirty and there's no soap in any of the...

We stayed here for two nights. The rooms and the bathrooms are old but clean. Try to have no room over the common room! Because of the fireplace beneath, this rooms smell like cold ash. The stuff was friendly and the jard inside pretty nice, also the common room. But the bad thing in this hostel is the kitchen. I...

We came there late but got a double-room. Room is clean with 3 beds in there. The hostel is charming and have a usable courtyard and a kitchen. Very tranquillo place for hanging around and you are right in the center of Colonia. Right next to the hostel is a 24/7 shop for beverages and stuff. Breakfast is uruguayan standard...

We stayed here for just one night. The rooms are old but full of character. The bed was really comfy and it was very quiet. The breakfast was basic but nice and the staff were really helpful. The Internet connection was excellent...we even managed to watch a match online which was brilliant!

The bathrooms were grimy with a mouldy shower curtain. There was absolutely no atmosphere at all. The breakfast was a joke - White bread and butter and the bed was saggy and uncomfortable. The wifi was great though.

The hostel it's nothing special, although the shared rooms are big enough that you can open your backpack/suitcase. I didn't like the bathrooms, downstairs there are only two of them and I don't think it's enough, moreover they look old and not 100% safe, also the common room looks old and not clean. They have a good patio.

“The rooms are all good. Its a old building with old doors so you can hear people walking and talking but its not a party hostel so for me it was not a problem. Thats normal when you stay in a hostel I think.”

“We stayed on the back, and it was great. Second time we stayed on the first floor and it was also just fine. I think there's not a lot of difference in the rooms.”

“Do not settle for what you are told. Always look around. There are better prices to be had, as was the case here at Hostel Colonial, which also has free bicycle use and is centrally located near the town square.”
