Walking distance from port, nice little garden, well-appointed in all ways, knowledgeable staff. No views or superlative amenities, but certainly a considerable value among the inflated rates throughout Colonia.

Hotel Ayres is welcoming, clean and has everything you could want, but of course not a deluxe hotel. It is a very short walk to the port and to the old section of Colonia. It was perfect for our one-night stay in the city after we arrived by ferry. Puntacar, an excellent company for renting a car, is one block...

Very nice staff and great location near bus and boat terminal. The staff were very helpful in recommending a place to rent golf carts. Breakfast was good and included. Would recommend this hotel for anyone looking to spend a night in Colonia.

We were delighted with this newish hotel which was located within very easy walking distance of the ferry, even for me and my two adolescent children who were carrying luggage packs. We would have felt silly getting a cab. After reading the mediocre breakfast reviews, we were pleasantly surprised to wake to such a nice breakfast. By far the nicest...

Not too far from the Historical center, one can see it is an old installed hotel. It does not intend to be a five star hotel, but if you are looking for utility rather than luxury, that is the place for you. It has all the basics. One of the shortcomings result from the room one chooses. The room no,12...

My wife and I stayed here for one night and enjoyed our short stay very much. Front desk staff is welcoming. The location is great. It's a short and pleasant walk to the center and right around the corner from the bus station and ferry terminal. We just rolled our suitcase from the ferry to the hotel and then from...

Just a couple of minutes to drag the luggage from the bus/ferry stop and then some 10 minutes to the old town (better than the other way around). Very helpful staff and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was on the unimaginative side.

The Ayres Hotel was really convenient to get to, coming off the Buquebus ferry from Buenos Aires, as it is only three blocks from the ferry terminal. It's also convenient for catching a bus to Montevideo, being just one block from the bus terminal! While the proximity to mass transportation may make the location sound unappealing, it was about as...

This hotel is fine -- clean, well located, and quiet. The breakfast buffet is very good, one of the best we experienced in a country that doesn't seem to care about breakfasts. Rooms are a bit small but fine for a short visit to Colonia. Takes credit cards.

Stayed here for two nights on March 10th and 11th 2014. The hotel is well located, just a short walk from the Buquebus Terminal, there's no need to take a taxi or remis unless you have an enormous amount of luggage. Its also close to the old part of the city and most of the main shops and restaurants. The...
