Argamak is a brand new hotel born from the Uzbek-French partnership. And because of that, it is built with all modernity which western people need, as well as in traditional architectural style for which a foreigner is looking for when going abroad. Hotel is perfectly located at the heart of the historical part of Samarkand, with the most important sightseeing nearby. Gur-Emir mausoleum is about 5 minutes' walk, the Reghistan square is about 10 minutes' walk. The hotel has got a terrace at garden's level, and it is a real pleasure to have a breakfast there, or have a drink. Another terrace at the last storey is also at your disposal: a panoramic view at best known monuments opens from there.

Detailed Reviews
What a beautiful hotel! From the moment you enter the heavy door it’s like a little oasis after a hot day sightseeing. The rooms are clean & new but with old world charm. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, I didn’t want to get up! Luckily great coffee & - quite honestly - the most delicious omelet I’ve ever had awaited us for breakfast each day. The team are very friendly, attentive & helpful. Sitting on the terrace with the view, or the courtyard surrounded by flowers, was so peaceful. The only part we were unprepared for was that they only accept cash payments, but that was easily sorted. Thank you L’Argamak for a lovely stay.

+1
We stayed for 3 nights at the L'Argamak Hotel, in a Double Room with Bath.
The Laundry is very slow, I handed my laundry on Monday morning at 8 am and kept following up to the next day, and it was still damp at 4:30 pm!!!!. Breakfast starts at 8 am although it says in a note in my room 7:30 am. Pleasant stay with good location.

This hotel is exceptional. A traditional hotel set off the road close to Gur Amir. It is unassuming and charming. it is incredible in comfort, cleanliness and in attention to detail. It is managed exceptionally well by Sharofat and her team. Each member of staff are so kind, helpful and attentive. It is close to all the main sights. You can walk to Registan through the park paths opposite the road end in 10 minutes. This is a charming oasis in the city bustle. Definitely highly recommend.

Ridiculously overpriced for what you get and compared to other options. We paid $200 for their nicest room which should have been priced at $80-100 max.
The rooms are ok and spacious but nothing more than that. What bugged me the most was how cold the room was and it only had an A/C for hearing which a) wasn’t strong enough and b) you couldn’t keep on at night due to the noise…
Breakfast was pretty basic too but I think that’s typical in the city.
All in all, a big disappointment…

Totally overpriced hotel compared to other similarly ranked ,4 star hotels in the city.
Breakfast was ok. Location was ok. Room was large and ok. Staff were okay. Our main issue was that we didn’t think it was worth the price, and to make it worse, they did not take credit cards. Only cash. This was totally inconvenient. And they did not have a bank / cash machine on site. So we had to drive and find bank machines (not an easy feat ). No one wants to walk around with hundreds of dollars of cash in Uzbekistan. If We paid $80-100/night like the similar 4 star , high ranked hotels were charging, and could pay by visa , like every other hotel ,we would not have been as annoyed.

Several reviews are similar calling about how fabulous the property, gardens and roof terrace, breakfast are, which sets extremely high expectations which I didn’t feel it fully lived up to. Whilst the location is favourable and it is one of the more decent options in town, I found it very expensive for what you get. In addition the payment up front and only in cash is extremely inconvenient - I had better experiences in far cheaper properties in the country.

L'Argamak is a very nice hotel in a good location in Samarkand, right next to Tamerlane's tomb and walking distance to the historic center. The hotel is down a small non-descript side street but the door opens into a beautiful, rose-filled courtyard. Rooms are relatively small but beds are comfortable and bathrooms good. The hotel offers an excellent breakfast buffet, including eggs made to order and a wide selection of local fruit, salads and pastries. There is a small terrace off the third floor landing that has a great view of the dome of Tamerlane's tomb. Room rate is a bit high but would still recommend.

We had an amazing stay. The personnel was incredibly kind and helped us in arranging a fantastic tour of the city with an extra skilled guide. We enjoyed every sunset from the terrace and every breakfast in the garden. Location is extra good and we really enjoy the quiet neighborhood far from touristic streets but very closed to city center. Cash payment preferred.

Located near the Gur Emir, the Argamak hotel is a typical Uzbek hotel with its flowery interior courtyard where you will enjoy delicious breakfasts with lots of choice. The welcome is perfect and the hotel is very beautiful and comfortable. The hotel has a terrace with a view of the Gour Émir dome.

Great hotel in a great location! The hotel is within easy walking distance of Registan Square in a quiet area. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Lovely breakfast on the terrace looking over the garden. The staff are exceptionally helpful and go out of the way to make sure guests are looked after.
