Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I recently stayed at Samdi Hotel and unfortunately, my first experience could not be worse. A few minutes after getting into the room, I got an electric shock when trying to turn on the lamp, probably there was a bare wire at the lamp. The staff did not quite understand what had happened after I notified them. Although I was grateful that the hotel staff replaced the lamp, at first, I did not hear any apology, compensation, or whether I needed medical attention. Waiting for a while, I went down to the reception, requested compensation, and after a few interactions, staff upgraded my room and offered breakfasts, which was the highlight of how the situation was handled. Once they understood what happened, the receptionist was very sincere and apologetic. However, I later experienced unacceptable attitude from the manager when I explored options for medical assistance (if needed) for the lingering numbness in my hand. The moment I got electric shock, the vacation stopped being fun. The moment I received unacceptable attitude from the manager, I gave up dealing with Samdi Hotel. The customer service was poor, and the way the staff (especially manager) handled the situation was not satisfactory. To me, receiving an electric shock in a hotel room is a serious matter that needs to be handled with utmost attention and care, but it seemed like the hotel staff did not share the same level of concern. I would have not given a review here if the manager had dealt with the situation in a more empathetic and professional manner. I would say, don't expect too much from the customer service here, especially if the staffs did not have the same perception about the situation as you, because the manager would not even listen to what you say.

My girlfriend and I had a one night stay booked here during the corona virus period in March 2020. This hotel is very conveniently located by the airport, and they also offer transportation service which we took advantage of. The hotel room we had on the 11th floor was clean and comfortable. We were provided towels, soap and shampoo to use in the hot shower. This was great. The room comes equipped with a television and a kettle, and there are also supplies available to pay for such as biscuits and packet noodles. The room also comes with air conditioning which worked fine. The WiFi worked great. Our flight was a late evening flight so the reason we booked this hotel was to be able to use the facilities while we waited around for our flight. It was only in the morning that we discovered that the hotel pool was closed, all of the facilities were unavailable, and even the bar was closed. This was really annoying to hear as we could’ve stayed in a much lower priced hotel nearby and had the same amount of services. It would have been good to have a warning about this in advance, as we would’ve changed hotel. We had breakfast in the morning which was included in our room price, but we didn’t really enjoy it. It seemed to be set food with no choice, so we ended up having a beef noodle soup and a sunny side up egg on a plate. The fruit was a bit dry too, probably left out from the day before. The staff here we found to be quite friendly and welcoming. When we complained about the lack of facilities and the pool being unavailable, one of the staff members let us stay in our room until 4pm, which was fine but I don’t see why we weren’t just allowed to stay in there until we had to leave. Overall, perhaps we just visited the hotel at a bad time, but it was a pleasant stay despite there being no facilities available.

If you are looking for a nice place to stay that is close to the airport, this is great value for money. Book direct with the hotel to get free pick up transfer from the airport, which is a 5 minute max drive. Very clean rooms and a fantastic breakfast. Staff are very polite and helpful. We will be staying here again.

Came for the pool and gym. Turns out they close from 6pm and closed all day tomorrow for maintenance apparently. Aircon was limited to minimum 22c, had to get an engineer out to change the limit but even set to 19 it's still showing as 25c half an hour later. 25 is ok in general but if you're from a cooler climate it's not pleasant to sleep in. They tried to move me to a different room but the temp there is the same and its central aircon so its ineffective everwhere. Minibar fridge wasnt plugged in in both the first and second room so none of the drinks are usable. Minibar drinks and snacks same as other similar priced hotels but twice the price. Shower is over the bath and has a screen to stop splashes but the design is such that lots of water skirts the perimeter of the bath and soaks the floor where it remains undrained.

The property as well located and physically nice and appears to be generally well taken care of.. I was first given room 808, but when the Bellman brought me there it was a bad odor emanating from the bathroom The property as well located and physically nice and appears to be generally well taken care of. The service was fine.. I was first given room 808, but when Thinh, the bellman, brought me there it was a bad odor emanating from the bathroom(sewage backup?). The Bellman called down to the front desk and they gave me a different room. It appeared that the shower did not get hot water, but the bellman told me that the water was heated by solar energy and, therefore, it takes a long time for the water to get hot. In fact, it took about 10 minutes for the water to be flowing for it to get hot enough for a shower. I feel badly, as that is a lot of wasted water. Strangely, the thermostat for the room is located on the headboard of the bed. The buffet breakfast had a very large selection of items to choose from. Strangely, a number of the items were apparently in low quantity and not refilled. None of the above adversely affected my stay at the property. The property also included a complimentary ride to the airport, which is ~2km away.
