A secluded, family-friendly lodge in the heart of the wild on the banks of the Zambezi. Good food, lovely en suite rooms, friendly, helpful staff. Come here and enjoy river cruises, birdwatching and all the activities around Victoria Falls, find out how Waterberry is a proud partner working with the local community, and then just sit back and enjoy the view.

We have been to Waterberry Lodge numerous times since 2012. It has grown considerably since then. The service is second to none, the food is good and there is AC in the rooms. Leisurely boat trips up and down the Zambezi are twice daily occurrences - sunrise and sunset, the latter accompanied by the obligatory g&t for sundowners. Idyllic.

We had a wonderful three night break at Waterberry Lodge following a week long safari in South Luangwa. Every part of our stay was perfect from collection at the airport, to check in with Eve and the accommodation, meals and activities. Our air conditioned room had a large, comfy bed, locally made dressing gowns and a pleasant seating area. The customer service was attentive without being intrusive. The meals were both delicious and plentiful whilst seated in a lovely setting overlooking the Zambezi. Our activities were all superb. Pascal was a good guide to the Zambian side of Victoria Falls and ably assisted us in crossing the border to see the falls from Zimbabwe. He was also an excellent driver and host during our evening cruise. We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and lunch on our own desert island - idyllic 😊. Thank you to everyone for a lovely stay.…

We have just returned from Waterberry and have had THE most amazing stay. We were met by the lovely Charlotte, who showed us around the beautiful area and Nature who looked after us so well! All the staff were friendly there. We took a sunset sail along the Zambezi, which is only feet away from the Lodge. We visited Victoria Falls, which is only a short drive away Would thoroughly recommend Waterberry for the lovely food , delicious food and caring staff❤️

The most hospitable staff. Our stay started off with a warm welcome from Hazel and her staff. From the food to the excursions to the attentive and professional staff, this was truly the most memorable trip we have ever had. Webby and Pasco were truly amazing guides. Their depth of knowledge and their willingness to share with us was so humbling. If you want to experience the heart of Zambia, we couldn’t think of a better lodge!

We were a group of 16 decades-long friends going to Africa for a bucket list trip. Waterberry was our Livingstone destination. It was fabulous. We could do activities as a group, go in our separate directions, or just quietly enjoy the marvels of Waterberry. The quality of the meals truly surprised all of us...including the foodies. The accommodations were elegant, comfortable, and pleasant in every way. Without question, the most memorable thing was the incredible warmth of the staff. We truly felt like we were at home. We were treated so well. Upon our departure, there were more than a few tears shed by our ladies (and the manly men, as well). We did not want to leave. Thank you, Waterberry. You have impacted our lives in ways you will never know.

This is such a lovely review, thank you! When we have groups like yours at Waterberry it impacts on our lives too. We are so proud to show you the beautiful river and we love it when guests enjoy the gardens (of which we are very proud!!) and take time to relax and just soak up the atmosphere. It's always a bit of a heartache when a big happy groups leaves - and lovely reviews like this keep the memories going. So pleased your life-list bucket trip was the magic you long-time friends wanted it to be - you truly deserved it..........

Amazing facility, wonderful food, lots of activities and most importantly what a wonderful team that took care of us. We went as a group of 16. Many looking for different experiences. Waterberry was perfect. Some folks went fishing, some to the local school and library, some on a walking safari. The food options allowed for different food accommodations. All of which were yummy! In the evening we reconvened from different activities to share stories over dinner and then a camp fire. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Dear Kathryn, thanks for your review. Yes, big groups always present the challenge of lots of people wanting to do lots of different things and it's good to hear that we managed to organise it all successfully for you. There must have been lots of different experiences discussed over your campfire sundowners! I guess you're all safely home now, so thank you for being with us. The Waterberry Team

Whilst visiting from the UK we stayed for 3 nights in the Owl House which accommodates upto 4 people. The house was quite spectacular with a thatched roof and an upstairs bedroom. There was also a shady decking area at the back overlooking the river. The lodge offers a number of different activities each day. We took advantage of the village & school visit and also their shuttle service to Victoria Falls. Our favourite was the sundowner cruise on the Zambezi which we did on all 3 nights. I suspect that we were only meant to do the cruise twice but the staff were very accommodating when we asked if we could do it on all 3 nights. Our guides on separate nights were Webby, Pascal and Crispin and all 3 were highly knowledgeable and were able to spot lots of animals and birds that we were initially unable to see. All of the staff were very hard working, super friendly and helpful with special mentions to Joe, Hazel, Eve and Sophia (she gave us the tour of the very impressive local school). The food was of a good quality and was available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On a couple of occasions we were also able to eat outside the designated meal times. As with most other things the staff would try their very best to accommodate any reasonable requests. A daily laundry service was also available with your laundry being returned on the same day that the lodge staff collected it. All in all this was a great riverside lodge to spend a relaxing few days and if you are in the Victoria Falls area this is an excellent place to stay.…

Hello Slater1969 thank you for sharing your views on Owl House!!! We did a refurbishment on it in January this year, including the new staircase and the bathrooms - it was a challenging rebuild and it is lovely to hear that people really appreciate it. I'm glad the team managed to keep you cruising - the Zambezi never fails to surprise with a different experience each evening. It sounds as if you packed a lot into your three nights with us - so happy you were able to take full advantage of all there is to do around Vic Falls. Hope you arrived home safely. Best wishes, The Waterberry Team

Waterberry Lodge is the perfect way to end a holiday in Zambia. Tucked away on the banks of the Zambezi, the lodge is an oasis of calm with a team who go over and above to ensure you have a memorable stay. There were so many highlights from the wonderful cruises on the Zambezi, an unforgettable day at the Victoria Falls including our amazing helicopter flight, seeing the rhinos and hearing about the efforts to reintroduce them to Zambia. We also loved visiting the school and seeing the impact Waterberry are having on the village. A special thank you must go to Pascal who guided us on our trips, his knowledge of the area, animal and bird life was fantastic. Our final thank you is to the wonderful George who served all our meals, went the extra mile to ensure the boys had their favourite beer and organised a wonderful traditional meal on our last evening.…

Thank you TracyB for taking the time to tell everyone that you had such a good time with us :-). I'm so pleased to you managed to see the Falls from above as well as walking them - it really completes the experience. The school visit is particularly important to us as the school, library and community farm are all made possible through the interest from our guests. Your review is lovely - it shows people how much there is to do around Livingstone and Vic Falls to complete your safari experienc in wonderful Zambia. Come back one day!!! Very best, the Waterberry Team

We could not have been happier with our stay at the Waterberry Zambezi Lodge. The lodge is close enough to Victoria Falls for an easy visit, but far enough away to be tranquil and feel as though you're off the beaten path. The entire team was friendly and eager to ensure we had everything we needed. Upon arrival, Eve helped us plan our activities, and Patience was on hand at all times for assistance. Our tent in the Woodlands was well-appointed and the grounds were lovely. We moved to a cottage right on the riverbank for our last evening, and it was magical. Breakfasts and dinners were all excellent, and we had a wonderful picnic lunch on one of their boats. We took two boat rides, a sunset cruise and a lunch cruise, with Chrispin at the helm. He also took us on a guided bird walk around the extensive grounds, which was great. We told Chrispin that we’d already seen some 80 different birds while in South Luangwa National Park, and he took that as a challenge and helped us spot another 20! …

DearGVHall - hope you have now arrived home safely and thank you for this great review. I'm so pleased that as a keen birder you stayed in both Woodlands and the Lodge. The Woodlands morning birdsong takes some beating doesn't it - breathtaking. I'm hoping to include it on our website soon so everyone can get the idea. It's great how many people arrive in Zambia not that interested in birds and then leave completely determined to create a life list! Chrispin loved the challenge - come back one day and we will find you 20 more!! Very best wishes, the Waterberry Team.

The most outgoing friendly staff you could ask for. Whatever you requested they were so accommodating. Located on the Zambezi river made for beautiful sunrise and sunset boat rides with delicious snacks and hot drinks. The rooms are lovely and the grounds are beautiful. We were offered our choice of 2 activities each day at no additional cost. We opted for the helicopter ride over Victoria Falls at an additional cost but well worth it. Afterwards Crispin, our guide took is to the Falls—what an amazing sight. One of my favorite activities was visiting Tukongote School which is supported by the lodge. What they have accomplished throughout the years is incredible. Visiting the children and the school was up there with the Falls visit and a Safari. The food was fabulous bring baggy pants😀. It was Unforgettable visit.…

Thank you Eileen0123456! So pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, and really grateful that you took the time to write and tell everyone how much! Of course everyone loves the amazing Falls - just awesome at any time of year - but it's particularly good that you had such a great time visiting Tukongote School. It's our ambition to make sure that our kids have the best chance and it's lovely to be able to show the school, library, farm and adult education centre to guests so that they can see how far we have come. We're proud of the kids moving up the grades (some of them have been with us for 9 years now) and particularly happy that this year we have some of our senior students moving on to university studying medicine, accountancy and engineering. Love the baggy pants idea!!! Everyone should be warned. Txx
