We've just returned from 2 nights in Miombo Safari Camp. We stayed in the elevated tents, which were delightful and comfortable. Don't expect utter luxury because you won't get it at Miombo, but what you will get is clean, comfortable and well-organised. We found the...More
We had expected a lot more for the price but Zimbabwe is outrageously expensive and as a result is only those who have a special reason for being there. It was difficult to find value for money anywhere in the country which no longer has...More
We stayed in an “elevated tent” which was absolutely charming. The sounds, sights and smells are an amazing experience. Johan and all catered to our needs and the food greatly exceeded our expectations (AMAZING). Our guide Nigel ensured amazing drives, snacks and sunsets. We were...More
Friendly welcoming staff with fruit juice. First appearances fine, general community area was clean, and friendly staff. Luxury raised tent not exactly. Rickety steep stairs, wobbly sagging door, slim-no view of water hole to view any wildlife. The twin beds were lovely, well dressed, and...More
We stayed in a tent in the camping area, absolutely nothing to complain about. We were given plenty of blankets to stay warm, the outdoor shower was great (with hot water) and the food was delicious every day. When we were going on morning drives...More
Miombo Safari Camp has the distinction of being the closest quality accommodation to Hwange National Park Main Gate & is located in the DETE annex, on a private concession within the eastern border of the Hwange …MoreNational Park. Having undergone a total transformation we have four brand new boutique raised above ground level platforms that are 75sqm, atop of which are exquisite luxury 55sqm safari suites, configured to accommodate two guests in a queen sized double or twin-bed configuration. Each of these guest suites has a main bedroom, with a wardrobe & storage space for clothes & footwear, a private en-suite bathroom with twin ´His & Hers` basins, ample hot & cold running water on demand, an interior private shower & separate private toilet. We also have two standard tree houses. These accommodation units are rustic & not of the same standard as the new platform units. Instead they cater to safari lovers who may have been to Miombo Safari Camp prior to its transformation, or folks who are seeking a slightly less luxury & more `rustic` bush accommodation. In addition to the raised platform guest suites there are four classic ground level thatched roof rondavels, each one accommodating two guests, with bedroom, wardrobe, private bathroom & shower. Less

Thanks for your question, depending the transfer should take about 2 hours. We can accommodate an afternoon game drive if you leave early enough from Vic Falls in the park, however we recommend instead doing the game drive on the Hwange Estate lands which is closer and offers great game viewing for a more comfortable and less rushed experience.
