I booked a room for 3 persons. It was great, neat, clean, and big The garden is very nice. The hotel is not very big so it feel more private. Staff speak english very well and very nice. We can feel the traditional Japanese environment. The hotel have many spot to take the picture for free. The location is a... More

This is one of the smaller ryokans (less than 10 rooms) that we have stayed at. The warmth, care and attention to the guests shines through. Check out the hotel's website - crowded with info - and you can see how Hiroshi Sato (and team) want to make guests' stay a memorable one. So, here it goes: Likes: - The... More

Small dorm with futon and sensor controlled light at upper floor. Reasonable. Moreover the Ryokan offers warm and friendly wellcome, fancy extras like foto point in the nice garden and bikes for free. What impressed me most was the food. Dressed in the light weighted Yukata one can enjoy local kaiseki style or watch the host performing a tea ceremony... More

Overall I was a little disappointed with this Ryokan. They advertise an onsite computer for guest use however it is locked in the "sleeping area" of the female only dormitory. As a male traveller I felt really awkward entering the women's sleeping area to access the computer (especially since I typically use a computer at night to plan my next... More

My room was the Momo room. It was on the corner, so there was a small garden view. It was also easily accessible to the public bath. The room also included a personal bath and washroom. I have the tatami double futon bed. Everything was comfortable and clean. The room was cleaned and we were given new towels and yukata.... More

Best place we've stayed in Japan! Hitoshi greeted us and was incredibly helpful, supplying maps etc and a gift of snacks when we left. Such a lovely traditional room with pretty garden area and small onsen. Great location as well, 15 min from station and 15 min walk to the castle :)

It was my parents' first time staying at a Japanese ryokan. They didn't know what to expect, but starting from Sato-san's warm friendly welcoming reception, to the cute exquisitely manicured Japanese garden, the charming public bath, to scrumptious breakfast (that we ordered separately upon arrival).... Everything was perfect. This part of Nagoya is not very busy and close walk to... More

Our 2-nights stay at Kyoya Ryokan was a total deal- convenient location, very friendly staffs, clean and spacious room, beautiful garden, wonderful bathhouse, flavorful and delicious foods. Oh, and the price was hard to beat, too. We would definitely be back the next time we travel to Nagoya or nearby cities.

Mr. Sota from Kyoya Ryokan is a very friendly host running an old school lodging in Nagoya. Wonderful dining area and garden. The rooms are the standard for ryokan style lodging, though smell very stuffy, which at times put me off a bit. Otherwise, breakfast is great, as you'd expect. Location also excellent, in between city center and Nagoya castle.... More

The place is gorgeous! Perfectly located between Nagoya Station and Nagoya Castle. The staff was incredibly friendly too. My only regret was not being able to stay longer. The futon beds are incredibly comfortable, and the view of the garden is awesome. I fully recommend it for couples.
