Last month we stayed in a twin bedded room for 4 nights with breakfast. We choose it because it is a short walk from Takayama train station and bus terminal. In the room there are 2 110V power points on the writing desk and another 2 points next to the bedside table. These are flat 2 pins type and if...

It's location is near station and the usual touristy district. A good spa at the end of a day. An open air car park area. Air con is centrally controlled so can get a bit too warm if you are used to having cool air at home.

Takayama is a very small city. The hotel is just three blocks from the train station and 5 blocks from the old city center. So, it's a good location for a short visit to the city. The room was ok, simple but clean. The wifi worked very very well. The breakfast quality was not very good. It was just what...

Nice hotel, close to the town centre. Very convenient location. The hotel is clean and modern, with a nice spa on 9th floor, which makes it even more interesting. Our room was very small, as often happens in Japan. Friendly staff (English speaking). I would recommend it.

The Goods: 1. Onsen at 9th floor 2. Big room 3. Near station and old town The Bads: 1. Central air con control - this can be too warm for Asians. Doesn't work with the window's tiny gap opening - still too warm for comfort 2. Bed is too soft

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nites in mid October. Front deck staff speak OK English so there is no communication issue. The roof top onsen spa is simple and nice, its highly recommended to enjoy your spa at night time when you are enjoy a starry night. Breakfast is priced at YEN 1200 with very limited choice of...

The hotel is located about 5 min walk from Takayama JR Station. From the hotel, you can also walk to most of the major tourist sites in Takayama within 15 min. The whole city, including the area where the hotel is in, is extremely quiet and deserted after 8pm. But you do feel the area is safe, as in almost...

The location of this hotel was perfect for exploring Takayama by either bike or foot. The room was clean and comfortable but a little small. We bought the breakfast buffet for 1200 yen which was an ok value but not as complete as others we've had elsewhere. The spa/onsen was on the top floor and perfect after a day of...

I stayed at Spa Hotel Alpina in Takayama for 3 nights in a single room as a solo traveller. Hotel was in a great location: only a 5 minute walk from the station and really easy to find. Also only about a 5 minute stroll to Takayama old town and a 30 minute walk to Hida Folk Village. The room...

Nice hotel - convenient, modern, spacious, clean and good value. We can view the Takayama area from our room as the surroundings are all low rise. Helpful and friendly service. They also have a public onsen on top floor. It is quite nice ... Just that if you are demanding for a proper Japanese traditional onsen experience, this is not...
