My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. The hosting couple are friendly and courteous and when you first arrive, the male host spends a good 10 minutes explaining how the indoor onsen, bath and other facilities work. He also went through how to best spend your time in town while you're visiting which was... More

Spent 3 nights in this guesthouse during the fall Takayama festival. Traditional tatami rooms with available private onsen. About 15 minute walk from the JR station. Fantastic Japanese style breakfast is not to be missed. The elderly couple who runs the guesthouse were very friendly and attentive. While their English was limited and our Japanese non-existent, we had no trouble... More

For the three of us we had two adjoining rooms in this minshuku, it was simple but comfortable. It is run by an elderly couple who were very pleasant and welcoming. A nice touch was coffee delivered to our room first thing on both mornings. We did not have breakfast here so I cannot comment about that. There were two... More

We had a short stay in takayama and this accommodation was one of our highlights of our trip witha traditional breakfast at only ¥1000 per guest. We asked from the train station to the accommodation; about 15-20mins. Owners don't speak English well but you make do and there are some respectful guidelines to be observed. The accommodation has an indoor... More

Friendly welcome on arrival from hosts. Traditional small guest house with typical Japanese rooms: tatami mats, low dining table and futon sleeping. Cotton yukata robes, fresh each day, for private bathing in onsen. Immaculately clean, shared toilets, but never bumped into anyone, even though there were other guests staying. We will never forget being waved off by the owner and... More

Hosting couple was very friendly and nice. Our room was very spacey and clean. Also all facilities were good and clean. As a traditionall Japanese ryokan there is no wc or shower in rooms. Being a such a small ryokan we did not had to wait even to go their onsen as a couple. Being in warm bath as a... More

I truly loved my stay there. It is located in a character house, near the old/touristy area of the city. It’s an easy and pleasant walk from the train station, though it takes about 15 minutes. The décor is nice and the place is spotless clean. Shared baths are, again, squeaky clean, and since it’s not a large establishment, it’s... More

We stayed here on a quick trip to Takayama and stayed two nights. It is in a great location and is an easy walk from the train station. The couple that runs it speaks limited English but plenty for basic communication. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and the bathes were lovely. I would definitely recommend having breakfast at the... More
