We booked double private room. Bathroom and shower were always prefectly cleaned! The room comfortable. They have also a washer and dryer machine... Really usefull! The staff were so kind polite and helpful! The guest house is a little bit far from the center but if you walk not on the main roads the walking path could be also enjoyable. Top:the tables outside! We spent evening outside enjoying the quiet and calm of the night. We suggest it!
This place was very clean and well run. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were clean and quiet as well. Even the shared bathroom was pristine! The guesthouse is located near Hida Folk Village. There's also a convenience store nearby and a lovely bakery where you can get breakfast food. Overall, I had a lovely stay at this place and would definitely recommend it to other guests.
We had a twin room which was larger than the usual Japanese hotel room. Toilets on the same floor, good shower stalls and laundry on ground floor. Very clean and convenient. Cosy communal kitchen with a fire going. Very helpful managers. We had a car and there was free parking. Really a very good value place to stay. It is on a slight hill on the edge of the town, a bit of uphill walk from station if one is walking. All in all we really enjoyed staying here and it was very quiet.
Sakura is a delightful guesthouse on the outskirts of takayama. Very close to the museums and Hida folk village. Staff are really helpful and provide us with discount coupons for various attractions. There is bike rental ( only 500 yen per day) , a great kitchen and lovely outdoors seating area. Really loved our stay. Oh they also provide a complimentary shuttle bus service to takayama station when you leave!
Very clean & well run. Basic rooms in a lovely quiet location. Comfy beds & heater provided in our room. The shared bathrooms were never presented a problem & the unisex showers are in a separate room downstairs with the laundry. Warm & very clean there was always availability when we needed it. The kitchen area is very well equipped, has a large dining area where people tended to sit & chat. Lovely wood burning stove greeted us arrival, very welcome on a cold & wet afternoon. It soon fely like home from home, tea & coffee is always provided & plenty of seasonings/oils to use in cooking were also available. It took us about 15 minutes to walk down into town. There is a bakery selling delicious high end breads about 5 minutes in the same direction. also a couple of mini supermarkets. Up hill is the Hida folk village the open air museum with wooden thatched houses from The Edo period, its approx 20 minute walk. In the mornings the guest house provides a free minibus service to town, last one is at 9am. Relaxed & friendly. NB towels are not provided but are available to rent for 100Y each. Excellent value …
