2 triple rooms booked in November 2016. Larger than rooms previously stayed in and welcomed the space as we were family of 3 adults and 3 young children. Very clean and good view from higher floors. Great location to visit the Nagano region.

This hotel does everything you need it to - the room is large ( much larger than a lot of Japanese hotels ),clean, well equipped and the staff are helpful. Another plus is its position - just five minutes walk from the station and about ten minutes walk from the castle and the very worthwhile art museum. The breakfast is... More

Stayed here for 4 nights using the hotel as a hub to get out and about the Nagano area. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the main station and close to everything that you would prioritize on a trip to Matsumoto Couldn't believe the size of the rooms compared to some hotels we stayed at in our... The staff were very helpful, English was spoken and understood. The rooms were comfortable and well set out. Breakfast was varied and very good. Situated very close to the centre and the station, an excellent address.

We really enjoyed our one night stay at the Richmond Hotel. When we arrived, the staff let us know that we made our reservation for a smoking room - which was a mistake on our part! We asked if they could move us to a non-smoking room and after checking with the manager, our request was granted! I really appreciated... More

We had one night in Matsumoto between Tokyo and Takayama and chose this hotel on the basis on the strong TripAdvisor reviews. The rooms were clean enough although there was a definite stale smoke odor. The bathrooms were a little old and smelt a little. Breakfast was in the cafe downstairs - but cafeteria rather than charming. The castle was... More

Japanese "business" hotel, expansive room, with excellent wi-fi and other accoutrements. Also the same for the Richmond in Fukuyama. Both close to the main JR stations. Many "business' hotels n Japan are miniscule. The APA in Kyoto was so small that the two of us could not get dressed at the same time.

Lovely new hotel. Helpful staff. Matsumoto is a lovely town with castle. Good base to visit mountains at Kamikochi. Hotel recommended a restaurant Kura for a great lunch. Tourist office very helpful and provided a map to town which enhanced our stay.

We stayed for 5 nights. The hotel is well located, clean and functional. Like most Japanese hotel rooms they are a little small but not too bad. The service was good, though English is spoken less well than other larger cities. The bed was ok, though as it had a spring mattress it was a little to mobile for my... More
