The hotel is nice and clean and has good location has located close to the central train station and walking distance from the castle, but the rooms are extremely small even compared to japanese norms. Other than that no complaints.

This hotel is definitely one of those “best bang for buck” gems and it really is close to the station. We actually walked right past it thinking it was further along having only power walked for about a minute (it was raining), so as with being this close to any major Japanese station, you have access to a whole bunch... Booked this at the last minute when we realised we had accidentally got our accommodation on the way to the Alpine route totally wrong. Was perfectly suited for what we needed. V convenient for a place to rest your head: clean, comfortable, great location (short walk to castle and restaurants, right by station)

Stayed at the New Station for just the one night. The building has a bit of character compared with most Japanese hotels, whereas the room is fairly standard; compact but functional. As the name suggests the hotel the hotel is very close to the JR station and as such is well located for the town's nightlife area. I didn't use... More

Perfect location 2 minutes from the station, 10 mintes from the castle and 5 minutes from the bars. Room was small but with all facilities and price was good, everything you need! Friendly staff, did not try the restaurant.

I stayed here with 2 of my friends two weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was. It was very easy to find, a short walk from the JR Matsumoto Station. There are many convenient stores nearby too. I got the Deluxe Room which was the only room type that can accommodate 3 people, so... More

This hotel has a much more pleasant feel than some of the more functional budget business hotels we've stayed at. Rooms are pretty standard for Japan but the bed was comfortable and it everything felt clean. We didn't take breakfast, preferring the excellent bakery at the station. It has a great location. Exit the station by the castle exit and... More

It's probably somewhere in between. The semi-double room was almost exactly the same as my small room in Shinjuku (which cost twice as much), except for a larger bed, although there was no sitting area so the overall space is probably smaller. It had a plastic pod bathroom but at least the toilet didn’t stink like it did in Shinjuku.... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and feel not bad and not very good. The room is small and very old. The most workers here cannot speak English well, it's hard to communicate. Once the laundry machine got some problem but no one could understand what I talked to them until they came to see the washing machine with me.... More
