Our room was very comfortable and had a great view over the river towards the mountains. We had French food on our first night, which was ok, but the Japanese on the other 2 nights was outstanding. We had to choose between 17 45 and 19 30 for dinner which was not ideal, one earl

We think this hotel has the best location in Kamikochi: right next to the bridge, shortest distance from bus station, and the best views of the mountains, from our bedroom, which was facing the mountain, and from the breakfast dining room.
We had a dinner, bed and breakfast packa

We stayed 2 nights at Shirakabaso first week of October. I initially wanted to stay at Imperial hotel but they were fully booked, so we stayed at Shirakabaso instead... I'm glad we did! We took the 10am bus from Matsumoto, and we were there before noon. This hotel is closest f

Most visitors to Kamikochi are day-trippers. Although you can certainly enjoy the area this way, it is even better when the crowds leave in late afternoon and before they arrive in the mornings. My wife and I opted to stay for a couple of nights and we’re glad we did. There are

We stayed here for one night and we absolutely love it. It is right next to the Kappa bridge. I got up early to take a walk, it was quiet and beautiful. You don't have to fight with others to take pictures. This is the best part of staying in the park for one night.

Hi there, does anyone know what's the best way to get to the hotel from Takayama Station? Thanks..Fei
We took the bus from Takayama to Hirayu Onsen, then another bus to the national park headquarters which is close to the hotel. The road from Hirayu Onsen into the park is closed to most private vehicles so if you rented a car you would have to leave the car and take a bus into the park. In any case, it's a beautiful ride all the way. When you arrive at the park you might want to get a reservation for the return trip to Hirayu Onsen. It can get quite full if there are a lot of visitors. It's a beautiful area and the hiking is very enjoyable. The monkeys are not friendly but fun to see!

Hi, may i know is Japaneae Style Room come with attached bathroom ? Booked 2 nights stay in mid october , according from the website for me reservation , the room includes bathtub and shower but some guests from different booking website commented there was no bathroom but only toilet in the room , i was very confused , without attached bathroom is very inconvenient ! looking forward for your answer ! thanks in advance !
We stayed in a Japanese style room on the ground floor. In our rooms (we had 4 rooms) there was only a private toilet, no shower and certainly no bath. I don't know if they may also have other Japanese rooms that do have a bath/shower, you should certainly check. Good luck!
