Having stayed here before this was our first choice. 10 minutes walk from the station in a quiet area of the home. The room was spacious and spotless. Futon lovely and comfortable. Owner and their family were very friendly The onsite bath was lovely to use after a days hiking. As some mention the owner speake Japanese, maybe I am... More

As the title says not bad but I would choose somewhere else if I was to visit Matsumoto again. Very big room but it had the neon side right outside the window which was like sleeping with the light on. Other reviews mention the bathroom across the road, we were not made aware of this probably because the owner does... More

We had a pleasant stay at this little Japanse hostel. We had nice 2person bedroom, wich was filled with a refrigarator and airco. The mastresses were a bit thin for me, but that was easily fixed with an extra matres that was stored in the closet. Free posibility for laundry. And there was a supermarket around the corner, and the... More

This is a very traditional Japanese stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We especially loved the spa and spent some lovely family time soaking after our daily adventures. Matsumoto is a beautiful and friendly town. We would have stayed longer if we had the time.

The room was relatively spacious and the futons were clean and comfortable. Yukatas were provided for us as was green tea. We used one of the two private hot baths found in the annex building across the street and it was very large and clean (there is also a third bath in the main building). The owner was very kind... We stayed here for one night in a large room. The lady that runs the Ryokan is lovely and even though not much English was spoken we all got by. It is such good value I was really surprised. Not too far away from Matsumoto station, we would stay there again if we revisited.

Stayed here for two nights when in Matsumoto, we were pleasantly surprised by this ryokan, this is definitely one of the best we have stayed during the trip. Getting there is actually not that difficult. Once you exit the gate at the train station, turn left you should see the tourist information center, keep walking to the escalator and go... More

Stayed here for just the one night, but would definitely recommend! It’s a short 10 minute walk from Matsumoto Station, so you have plenty of food options and it’s easy to get around. Upon check in we were greeted by an obachan (the owner’s mother) who was so lovely! The room itself was a bit of a maze to find,... More
