The lobby is lovely. The staff friendly and courteous. The dinner included live abalone prepared by a chef right in the room. There are two private baths with views of the sea. However, there are no non-smoking rooms, so our room smelt like an ashtray. The staff apologised profusely and offered us some air freshener, but it didn't help. We had an ocean view room, so there was a busy road just outside our window. Very noisy. This room is normally priced at about ¥25,000 per person. We only could stay here because we had Rakuten points. Glad we didn't pay the full cost.
Finally, this is not a good place for overseas guests to stay because the staff cannot speak English, and they are not too sophisticated. One lady praised my Japanese when all I said was "arigatou". On the other hand, huge staff didn't seem too nervous around me, I think overseas guests would be alright with a Japanese friend or someone fluent in Japanese accompanying them.

My husband and I stayed at this ryokan for one night, after reading the excellent reviews. We had expected a remote and cozy ryokan, but was a little disappointed with the location. Yes it is by the sea, but there is a huge road between the ryokan and the sea!. So you get an ocean view plus a road view, and when you open the windows, it can be a little bit noisy.
Besides that, we were overall satisfied with this ryokan. The food, mainly made up of seafood, was excellent. The staff were very friendly. My husband and I both speak Japanese, so we don't know about the staff's English abilities, but the way they worked made us believe that they are very professional.
The room we stayed in had a 'rotenburo(out-door tub)' but I would not recommend this room type. The rotenburo was a small tub, manufactured with rubber-like material. The numerous
(6 onsens plus one family onsen) onsens are much better.
The kazuku-buro (family onsen) has a sign that shows vacancy, so you...
