Reviewed 16 April 2015

We spent one night at Shoheikaku in room #101 which has its own private hot spring off the room. Since we do not speak Japanese, a co-worker of my husband booked the room and ordered the meals. I want to highlight that this is a traditional Japanese style hotel and we were a little worried about sleeping on the floor and only having traditional Japanese foods. However this hotel turned out to be the best hotel experience we have ever have had. The hotel hot spring was nirvana. It was so relaxing that we could have slept on a nail bed. Fortunately we did not have to, they did lay down 2 mats and had American style pillows. (We also brought our own pillows.) The food was excellent. Despite the staff’s very limited English, they went out of the way to be pleasant and helpful. I do not have enough superlatives to describe our experience. Another bonus is that Matsue town and castle were beautiful. More
