We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hanabishi, I dare say even on behalf of my wife and daughter. We spent two nights in the hotel during our trip to Hakodate. Hanabishi is a large hotel but still very cozy. The service was extraordinarily friendly starting with the reception. The location is also excellent, walking distance from the seashore. The...

I arrived in the evening after a snow storm. The check in is very efficient. They even suggest places to eat for us as they don't have restaurant in the hotel. Onsen is good also in this hotel. One of the best thing is the location. Its just so near to the tram and you can easily walk to the...

Tradition meets modern comfort in this treasure tucked away in Hakodate. The service was impeccable and the people who work there went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and special. Ours was the traditional/western room replete with two twin beds and a tatami (straw mat floor covering) room with futon bedding. The bath was small but rustically traditional...

We checked in on 2 May 2015 at the Hanabishi Hot Spring Hotel. The hotel is close to the city train stop, just a few minutes walk. We were three travellers staying in a big suite with a twin bedroom in western style and a tatami area. The room was nice and equipped with necessary facilities. The hotel staff were...

The room was great - very spacious, and nice to have the option of a western bed or futons on tatami mats. The onsen was large, clean and not crowded. The meals were good. However parts of the hotel were very dated, it was quite far from the train station, and it was expensive (compared with other hotels in Japan...

The room is spacious, toilet is spacious too, but I never used it... 😬 Did all my shower in the Public Onsen at Level 1 and Level 7 Visited the Private Onsen room,... But the Public Onsen already has so little people around, so I guess I do not need Private Onsen. Honeymoon couples should stay the private onsen room....

This was a wonderful experience staying and Hanabishi Hotel. It was the first stop of our Hokkaido tour with Follow Me Japan, and we stopped there for 2 nights. As we came as a family of four, we decided to book 2 rooms - the Western-Japanese style room and the Japanese Traditional Room, which came with an onsen. The first...
