Our room was extremely large - by GLOBAL standards. We had a separate TV sitting area as well as sleeping area, both of which were clean, comfortable, and spacious. We got 2 full size beds put together in lieu of a queen or king sized, which was a little odd but sufficed for our needs. We also had a great view of the ocean - too bad it was too cold to go in!

The breakfast and dinner were both decent. Dinner included all you can eat crab legs, which I suppose is pretty standard in Hokkaido but still always much appreciated. I also had a lovely onsen experience here.

Checked in for a night's stay. Tatami room was extremely spacious and newly renovated. Bathroom was clean, fully equipped with amentities. Restaurant that served dinner and breakfast was very hygienic and tidy. The food spread was extremely delicious. The onsen was good, with a few pools and large public bath area. The only disappointment is that there is no wifi in the rooms, only at the hotel lobby. Had a very comfortable stay indeed.

This hotel is absolutely comfortable. The room is huge and spacious. The furniture is a bit old but it is ok. We got an ocean view from the room. It is really nice!
The onsen is great! The breakfast is sufficient to kick start your mornings.

My 14-year-old son and I, as a part of 35 people tour group, visitted Hokkaido during 21-27 July 2012. We stayed one night here on 26 July. The room is clean, a little bigger than what we had from other hotels and also well decorated. My son said that the onsen room was also good here.
There was very nice seaview at the back of the hotel. The WIFI was free at the lobby. There were not so many variety of foods for dinner and breakfast, but all were yummy.

Stayed here for one night with the tourist group, our room comes with partial view of the ocean, and at the back of the botanical garden next door. The botanical garden have a small facility for the monkey, which is interesting but noisy in the morning.

There's free wifi at the hotel lobby, tourist can also enjoy Foot Hot Spring outdoor while viewing the ocean. Their indoor Hot Spring is mediocre, for the women's public bath, there's a broken tile that left a 2 cm "paper-cut" style my right leg!!!

The food is mediocre, but I did enjoy their beef flank steak, and watermelon.

I'm in love with this hotel! As soon as you walk into the lobby, you're greeted with a panoramic ocean view. The staff spoke minimal English, but enough to explain check in/out procedures, as well as give directions to the airport bus the next morning.

My room was huge- had two twin beds on an elevated platform above the floor, as well as a sitting area with couch, chair and vanity/desk. I had a wonderful view of the ocean, through windows that opened so I could also hear the waves crash. The bed was extremely comfortable and overall my room was very serene. My only complaint would be that I requested a non smoking room, but my room still smelled of smoke.

The onsen here is possibly the best one I've ever been to, out of 20+ all over Japan. The indoor and outdoor baths on the 8th floor have an indescribable view of the sea. The indoor onsen on the 1st floor has seen better days though; I recommend avoiding it entirely and just using the one on the 8th floor. The floor felt a bit slimy (so unusual for Japanese onsens, which usually feel extremely clean), and it seemed there were at one point, a few other pools/features that had been broken and neglected for some time.

I ate dinner and breakfast on property, both of which were pretty good. Dinner featured sashimi and crab legs, but what I really enjoyed were the traditional Japanese dishes like nikujaga (like Japanese pot roast), jingisukan (grilled lamb), and a make your own chirashi (seafood bowl) station.

Even after only staying one night, I left feeling very relaxed. Definitely would like to return!!

Excellent view from the rooms! nice decent size rooms although the bathroom was rather tiny but usable. The staff were excellent :) made us feel very welcome! They have a kids room with video games, common areas with free WiFi. My only downside would be...we only stayed 2 nights it should have been longer! The room was very clean and spacious. We had included breakfast and dinner with our booking which was OK plenty to choose from just nothing I could go back for again as some of the choices were cold but looked like they were supposed to be a warm dish.
There was also a supermarket about 10 min walk. The futon beds were comfy the doonas were so snuggly and we slept with the windows open to hear the ocean waves roll in even though it was winter!

My family of 4 spent the 2nd night of our holiday in Hokkaido in Yunokawa Grand Hotel.

Our hotel room the previous night was small - by the time the 4 futons were laid out, there was not much more room to move around. The toilet and shower area were also tiny. But I thought then that it must be standard for Japanese hotels.

So I was very pleasantly surprised by how spacious and luxurious our room in Yunokawa was. We were given a corner room on the 6th floor. The futons took up only half the room. Everything in the room looked very well maintained. We had a balcony that looked out directly to the sea and it was very pleasant to go to sleep at night with the sound of the pounding waves in the background.

The toilet area was very large too! There were double sinks, a separate bath-tub room and toilet cubicle.

The dinner and breakfast buffet were generous and had good variety and quality. For dinner, we had plenty of crabs. The beef was tender and juicy and the chawanmushi silky.

I can't say very much about the onsen though. I went at night and had the whole place to myself. But I could not see anything through the big glass windows as the steam misted up the glass and besides - it was too dark to see anything. I can't comment on the quality of the water as I am no expert.

The views from the hotel room was beautiful. It is the first time I have seen snow on the beach, and definitely the first time I saw a steaming hot spring on a snow covered beach !

I would stay here again if I come back to this area.

The hotel is desperately run down and almost creepy. It really needs an update. Stayed for two nights as we unknowingly booked over golden week and everywhere else was either EXTREMELY expensive or full. The worst part is no wifi beyond some shared area which is a nightmare for people like myself! It’s beach front but when you look out the building is half corroded away and quite frankly, you wouldn’t trust a seagull to go walking along that way. Mini mart withiN is... mini. Rooms are kept clean and of fair size but I’d rather stay in a less creepy space that’s smaller WITH WIFI!

We like the fabulous hot spring. We feel relaxing in the Japanese style room with sea view, listening to wave all day. Excellent breakfast with many choices, we can tell the hotel is well managed by excellent service.
