We had a wonderful time here. The room was very spacious for this price and it’s within walking distance of the red warehouses and many of the old buildings in town, plus the ropeway to go up Mt Hakodate. You can take the tram from Hakodate station and get off at Jujigai (十字街) to get close to this hotel. From there it’s an easy walk.

The staff were also very friendly. I highly recommend this for a stay in town.

What an amazing hotel HakoBA Hakodate is. It is located in the old Fuji Bank building which gives it a unique character. They have done an amazing job updating the interior making it look modern yet still letting the character of the building shine through, awesome!
Staff at reception were super friendly and helped us with lots of recommendations, like food and drink, and helped us with the public transport 1-day pass which you can buy here. There's also a cool little shop in the reception area selling local gifts.
The room was really nice and we were lucky they gave us a room on the top floor which meant the room had really high ceilings and amazing details on the ceiling. Bathroom was pretty large, very modern and clean.
Location wise this hotel is perfect. It is a 20 minute walk from the station but well connected to other public transport like buses and the city tram system. Located in the middle of the redbrick warehouse area of Hakodate there's plenty of shopping and restaurants around. Ideal for exploring this amazing city.
Highly recommend staying here!

Accomodation with rooms with ensuite bath and toilets and Hostel style areas. Perfect for solo or with families.

Stayed in one of the hostel style rooms during my trip to Hakodate. Rooms were clean and spacy. Kitchen area was clean and leads you to an open area with a open space where you could have your meals. Not advisable during winter or wet weather though.

Located between Suehirocho and Jujigai tram stations. Conveniently located as coop sapporo nearby for your needs if you plan to cook and a walk upslope to the ropeway station for Mt Hakodate.

We are a group of 6 travelling in Hokkaido by self-driving. We stayed at the twins sharing room in this hotel for two nights. The rooms with attached bathroom are big and clean. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The morning market is just within walking distant. Overall staying experience is great. I will definitely stay at this hotel during my next visit to Hakodate.

This hotel is exactly the same as on the website. This is a no frills hotel ideal if you are sightseeing. Don't be misled, no frills does not mean poor quality. The beds were great, hairdryer brilliant and the bathroom fabulous. Will definitely book again when visiting. At check-in Alice looked after us and could not do enough for us. Other staff on other days made restraunt reservations and booked a taxi for us. The location is ideal, close to the bay, beautiful views. The rooftop terrace ideal when the weather is a bit warmer.

Due to our late booking, we only manage to get a 4 pax family room with shared bath room. However, the room is great, and the shared bath room is great also! Although you need to walk out your room to go your bath room, but the shared bath room privacy is good and it's very clean!
The location is amazingly best in the Hakodate, by just few steps away from the main attraction! The entire hotel setup is very comfortable & cozy. The prices is superb reasonable!
Definitely will go back again, but remember to book it more advance because their rooms is very limited.

Superb location next to the bay and historic walks and my Hakodate. Great facilities and very nice layout of the hotel with contemporary fittings and decor. We were in a quadruple room with two bunk beds. It was very spacious and had all amenities. Beyond that we used the shared facilities which were convenient and clean. Plus they gave us the option of using the private bathroom for the family for 90 mins with prior booking. This helped a lot. Housekeeping etc was timely and good.
Fabian and team at front desk was helpful with all queries.
View from the kitchen balcony at the top was my best feature of the hotel. We sat down there every day with a coffee to admire the bay and beyond. Convenience stores, tram station and small family restaurants are nearby at walking distance.
One gripe is that they don’t have any parking facility. Given their location and classification of a hotel (even if a shared one), they need to have one. But clearly marked parking lots in the vicinity were provided on a map and we parked there for 12/24 hour slots. It was inconvenient and removed flexibility from our plans.
Other than that a great place for exploring Hakodate, that I would recommend.

And reasonably near the ropeway up Mount Hakodate. It is a little far from the JR station for public transport which I had to brave during rush hour and at subzero temperatures. I realise later than if you are a party of 3-4 it may be worthwhile to take a taxi to the hotel and it is only slightly more expensive than taking the tram and walking. The hotel seem to be in a converted old building and it looks very nice and new. There are two wings. One which is more like a hostels and the other with the private rooms. The wing with the private rooms did not have a lift which was a bummer as my luggage was very heavy. It is however only 2 levels so perhaps it’s not a big deal for you.

The room was nice but I found the placement of the air conditioner (heater) a bit strange as it was separated by the wardrobe and I found it didn’t warm the room with its high ceiling up as effectively so the room was a little chilly.

I did some laundry and the coin operated washers and dryers are at the wing with the hostel rooms and you needed to get a pin from the reception.

I wanted to send part of my luggage to Sapporo and the staff helped me do this quickly and the price was not very different from what I would have paid had I brought my luggage all the way back to the JR station where there was a counter.

Some of the staff was not fluent in English but they try their best to help you solve any problems which I appreciated.

By all accounts it was a comfortable stay and this would make a great base for you to explore the sights in Hakodate.

Very impressed with the lobby - front desk staff - so chic !!
Great location just in front of the bay and not far from the attractions.
Room is simple but had everything you want. Bathroom is very big compare with other hotels in Japan.

This shared hotel have an excellent location. In the middle of cable car station to Mt Hakodate and right in front of the harbor and the red brick house. Not too far from Hakodate bus and JR station. Very convenient for sightseeing and eating (very near to Piero burger restaurant).

This hotel doesn't have parking near side. Two public parking that needs 3 min to 5 min work from hotel and can't place reservation and no advantage.
