We only stayed one night in this hotel since we only took a single day to visit this town. The hotel is along a road, bit out of town. There is a bus-stop right in front of the hotel with a service every half hour towards town. In the morning we decided to walk to the place where all the...

Me and my family stayed at the hotel in the beginning of Aug. 2013. A very nice family owned hotel. the stuff / family are very helpful and nice. the rooms are a little old but very clean. The location is good, in the middle of Nikko and close to the historic Toshugu Shrine, and other attractions. The Hotel has...

We stayed here for one night while visiting Nikko. (Mum and two daughters.) We picked it for the very reasonable price, when compared to other places in the area, and the fact that three of us could share a triple room. What a great choice! For starters, the location is good, in the middle of Nikko and close to the...

We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located at bus stop 12, a short ride from the Tobu train station. We were using the all-Nikko pass and this location was very convenient to busses covering the area. The food is European--5 course dinners. We enjoyed discovering each new course. At breakfast there is also...

We spent 3 nights in the hotel, which had seen its best times years ago. The staff was very friendly. The rooms are very old fashioned western syle. The problem is, that the kitchen tries to cook western style. The salat, fish and dessert is quite good, main dish (meat) and soup has a poor quality. At three evenings we...

this hotel looks vaguely bavarian from the outside but inside it's mostly Japanese. Not a modern hotel but the rooms were adequate. The surprise was in the 5 course dinner we had which was included in the price! Every course was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Entree, soup, fish, steak, fruit. It was 5 star! Another surprise - massage...

The name of this place is very misleading, to put it mildly. There are three shrubs in front of the hotel and a tree in the back. But the hotel is located on a busy road leading out west of Nikko. If you have a roadside room you will not be able to sleep. The hotel must have been built...

I was having trouble finding a vacancy in Nikko at the more popular hotels and those reviewed by Trip Advisor so I booked this through Japan Hotels Online. The hotel is on the mainroad out of Nikko towards Lake Chuzenji. Our room (with balcony) on the second floor facing the street was noisy because of the traffic on this road....

“Rooms facing away from the highway are probably more quiet.”

“Some of the rooms face the road and another reviewer had said it was quite noisy. Even though I am a light sleeper, from our second floor room--which faced the road--I honestly can't say I noticed the noise. We came during spring break on a week day, and before the peak season, so it probably can be a bit noisier in busier times. However, the rooms are not right by the road, being somewhat separated by the garden. If noise could be a problem, just ask for a room on the other side.”
