This hotel is absolutely exceptional. The hot spring on the roof terrace which faces the mountains while you soak in the hot deep relaxing water is just out of this world. It is stunning! Very high standard of customer care and the hotel is absolutely spotless! I can't even praise this hotel enough as my stay was just so relaxing...

The trip to Nikko was a disaster from start to finish, topped off with the hotel double charging us; and when we complained, there was no one there that spoke or could read sufficient English to either help or understand. When we booked, there were no directions as to what train to catch, so when we asked at the JR...

We chose this hotel because of it's closeness to Edo Wonderland which about a 10 minute drive away. We stayed for one night and were allocated Room 502. We were a family of four. The room was spacious which a separate bedroom containing two single, comfortable beds. The other two members of the family slept in the lounge on futons...

my daughter and I stayed at this hotel in March. Hotel has 3 different public bath areas, one on the roof and two on the lower levels. All three of them were nice but not big like the hot springs in Hokkaido. I prefer the open air hot spring up on the roof. i must mention the buffet in this...

When I stayed at this hotel, I realized that there could be 2 categories of guests: Group A: The young, or the young at heart. Comes with a group. Enjoy eating together in a lively place, preferably with a large spread (ie buffet). Onsen that caters for big group will be ideal. Preferably to have nearby or indoor entertainment, such...

This was our first hotel in Japan. After 11hrs flight and 2.5hrs train journey we arrived at Nikko. At Nikko railway station we realized that our hotel is half an hour journey by taxi. Hotel is packed with extremely humble (as rest of Japan) staff. This is an upgraded Japanese resort with all what you need, Clean rooms, massage chair...

I was expecting much as this hotel had good reputation for buffet food. Nice welcome with kimono dressed employees. Although it was Tuesday, she told us that their rooms are 70 % occupied. Very nice onsen (natural hot springs). There are three onsen to choose from. It seemed like the top floor open air bath was the most popular but...

This part of Japan used to be a big weekend destination for those in Tokyo. Oddly, it's much easier to get there now, but that took away from the draw of city-dwellers. It's still a bit of trek because it's not on one of the direct train routes. I was with a small group of friends and we arrived at...
