Stayed three nights in an old property amidst the Yumoto Onsen area. This hotel is away from Lake Chuzenji but it is a welcome rest place. Shuttle picked me up opposite Nikko Tobu station and upon arrival, greeted by minimally English speaking staff who showed me my room and amenities. The attractions are a trek around Yunoko Lake and into... More

Perfect to escape from Tokyo crowds and walk surrounded by nature. Let me go step by step: This hotel is NOT NEAR the temples. For those who want to be closer other properties are better. Konishi hotel is for nature lovers, those who want to walk around a beautiful lake, with very nice trails, and just to enjoy the priceless... More

We really appreciate you liked our hotel. As you say our hotel stands at 1500m high above sea level in the Nikko National Park. And nature lovers go hiking, watching waterfalls, fishing and skiing, snow-shoe trekkinig in winter around our hotel. Okunikko is one of the most famous areas in autumnal leaves. Especially the view of the contrast of the waterfalls... More

NOTE: This hotel is not in the Nikko city centre, but if you want to explore the real Nikko (lakes, waterfalls, beautiful scenery), you can consider staying for one day or two in Lake Chuzenji and also the Yumoto Onsen area. It snowed when we arrived at this hotel in late January. We stayed in Nikko Lakeside Hotel near Lake... More

We appreciate your visiting our hotel. We have a lot of snow in winter and many of the guests enjoy skiing, snowboading, cross-country. And you could even take snowshoeing tour. Our guide take you to a beautiful winter view like frozen falls ,lakes or snowy forests. You can rent a pair of snow shoe, of course. We are so glad... More

On our recent trip to Japan, we decided to visit Nikko to see the temples and shrines. We did not understand anything about the locale of this hotel. On arriving at Nikko station about 3:30 PM we learned that the hotel was far out in the country and could only be reached by public bus or a very expensive taxi... More

Excellent service from staff to hotel owner Konishi San. Big rooms, western style bed and another area for tatami where you may have the futon or tea ceremony. Option for Public or Private, nice onsen (hot spring).

On the positive side: food, almost all the staff, great surroundings, bath room small but convenient if guest prefers western style, very good gift shop. Negative side: a relatively senior staff man gave me a hard time at registration. I initially had booked for 3 nights, for 2 persons. Plans had to be changed later, and I e-mailed them to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Appearance of the hotel, which is brick in color, is well harmonized with the nature. Nature is widespread around Oku-Nikko (literally means "deep Nikko",) and travelers will enjoy taking a stroll around and gathering memories of the travel. However, we have another suggestion for you. We recommend you to feel and stay as if you are a resident of Oku-Nikko rather than being the traveler, who has a tight schedule to travel around. We support your resort life in plenty of nature and you will find something another scenery of Oku-Nikko, which is not introduced on a brochure. ... more   less
