Eventhough it was peak autumn season we were a little underwhelmed given recent reviews. Our bathroom wasn't that clean, there was mold on the shower curtains and roof, and the bath didn't drain very well (would rather not think why). The traditional baths are stunning and I really enjoyed using them but there seemed to be a problem with hot...

Our room rate included breakfast which was diverse, flavorful and quite big. Our room had 2 single beds (and a private bathroom - shower + toilet). The entire property was extremely clean and tidy (rooms included). The place is also very quite, so it's easy to relax. The staff were very nice during check in / out. During breakfast the...

The owner is very nice and picked us up from the railway station which is about 3 km away. The location is convenient for taking the public bus to attractions but far away from town and food facilities. It is a small B&B place, but you have to order your breakfast or dinner in advance. We didn't realise that we...

Awesome place to stay, we were made to feel very welcome by the owners. Make sure you get the breakfast when you check in for 1500 each it is super worth it. Also make sure you use one of the 3 Japanese baths, our family used them daily and they are soooo nice. Thank you to the kind staff at...

I was confused when looking up an accommodation in nikko since I've never been there. It's in the middle of yumoto onsen and nikko station which means there's nothing much around akarinoyado, just a few cafes and clinics. The owner is very kind and friendly. Akarinoyado is clean and quiet. Free tea bags, coffee, hot water and cold water are...

This is a homely hotel, reasonably well located for a few days in Nikko. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, and the food is absolutely superb. As with many other reviewers, I cannot thank Kono San enough for his hospitality and I won't hesitate to book in again if I ever visit Nikko. Regarding getting to the hotel, we...

I booked Villa Revage based on the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor, and it lived up to the hype and more! Owner Hiroaki, his wife Keiko, and their son Ken run this charming B&B off the beaten path in Nikko. Set against a dramatic backdrop of forested mountains, the inn's three private onsens are among the best I've visited in Japan...

I had a couple of the most memorable stays ever during my three weeks travelling around Japan and this was easily one of them… Firstly, for the price the accommodation is fantastic value, especially when you consider the amazing breakfast as well as the use of a private onsen, and it is a truly a beautiful one at that. In...

We spent 2 nights here. The owner, Kono San was really helpful. He picked us up from the train station and offered useful information on our sightseeing options. His service more than compensated for the clean but spartan rooms. WiFi was spotty and walls are thin. Thankfully beds were comfortable. The rooms came with attached bathrooms but the highlight was...
