Daibutsukan was a great traditional Japanese hotel. Loved the view from the balcony: Kofuku-ji Temple behind the trees, and deer running around the park. Green tea was supplied with a thermos of hot water everyday. Every morning I sipped my warm tea from the same balcony. I also loved wearing the yukata (Japanese robe which they provided), while sipping my...

We stayed at the Daibutsukan Ryokan for one night and found it to be ideally located for our short trip. Nara Street is two minutes away where there are plenty of restaurants and shops to browse. The main tourist spots in Nara are conveniently positioned around an easy 2 or 3 hour circular walk. The hotel is right on the...

Great location, clean, and friendly staff. But old Japanese style facility in the mid 80s, shoes off in the hotel, could not sleep well on the futon/tatami. So if you are more into Western style with a mattress, look elsewhere.

This is the first ryokan we tried and it was a great experience. We told ourselves that while in Japan we had to try a ryokan at least once. As soon as you come in you have to take your shoes off and put slippers on which keeps the place clean and makes the experience even more interesting. Somebody shows...

Only 20 mins walk from the JR Nara station, we arrived at our hotel, opposite street from the Kofuku-Ji. We were lucky to be put in a room with a view of the famous pagoda. After a relaxing bath and changing into the yukata, a fabulous dinner was served. There were so many dishes, we didn't even know where to...

We loved this Ryokan, it's family run and very near Nara park and the sightseeing area. It's just in front of the five-storey pagoda and a lovely small lake. The owners were amazing, so kind and helpful. The room was Japanese style and big with a small western style table and large fridge. We didn't try the baths nor food...

Visited Nara daibutsu temple with family and friend. You need to travel from kyoto to nara by train for an hour. You may get bus or taxi to nara daibutsu temple. We visited during new year holidays so there was huge traffic jam and temple was full with people. Took taxi from the back root. Temple was beautiful and attracting...

The building itself is not new and this Ryokan is not an Onsen place, however, the Tatami mats Japanese room and bath were tidy and clean enough to stay. All staff welcomed me with their warmest hospitality. The owner told me that next year will celebrate 100 th anniversary. The location is right in front of the famous national treasure...

The place is clean, close to Nara Koen for the visits, quiet and the service is perfect! I had the Japanese style breakfast and it was perfect! They even have hot baths for ladies and hot baths for men.
