I stayed there for 1 night and it is conveniently located next to Nara Park. I took the Kintetsu Rail from Osaka-Namba Station to the Kintetsu Nara Station. Direct train, took approx 30min. It takes approx 15min to walk from the Kintetsu Nara Station to the Ryokan. The room rate is inclusive of in room dinner and breakfast the next... More

My family which includes a young child stayed at this small ryokan for three nights while in Nara, and it made our first trip to Japan really special. The young woman who took care of us was unbelievably attentive and lovely. We were all impressed by her hard work and thoughtfulness. The service at this ryokan is impeccable. The meals... More

We stayed for one night at this truly wonderful ryokan! We arrived early and checked our bags in before heading out. We were welcomed again with a small tea ceremony and shown into our room. The room was simple, elegant and perfect! Since its on the first floor, there is no Japanese garden attached to the room, but one can... More

Service as you would expect from a high end ryokan. Lovely spa and right in the Nara deer park next to all the tourist attractions in Nara. Just perfect. Dinner and breakfast served in room were copious and elicits. We were really surprised by all the lovely little dishes.

We stayed on the first floor with our two boys. We were well taken care of. The kids loved the public bath, and my wife loved the in-room huge cedar tub. The food was delicious and abundant. This was a great splurge. However, it appeared they spoke very little English, so perhaps it would have been difficult if my wife... More

We spent one perfect night here while traveling through Nara. The inn is gorgeous and perfectly maintained. The gardens are lovely. Our rooms were enormous, like having your own apartment, and could have easily accommodated a family with several children. Amenities galore, as befits a first rate ryokan. Every detail was perfect. The bathroom was spacious and lovely. The dinner... More

I realize that "geisha" is prohibited in Japan, and for that I'm grateful. But, this tea house/restaurant is not to be missed. Two of us "visiting experts" were treated by our hosts to a wonderful meal here, and I only wish that I could go back during the daytime to see the beautiful gardens by sunlight. I am vegetarian, and... More

This is a lovely old inn that is connected to the Nara deer park. Everything has been renovated in the last few years. Great public baths! Our bathroom had a wooden soaking tub and a heated toilet seat. The dinner was outstanding-so many courses and the presentation was beautiful. Our "server" worked to make our stay perfect. She spoke enough... More

We stayed in three very different styles of ryokan during our month long travels through Japan and this one was by far the best experience. Although the building isn't old, it is done in a very traditional style both inside and out. So, you get the advantage of modern plumbing and amenities, but with a totally traditional feel to the...
