I felt really comfortable and welcome at this guesthouse. The staff were very friendly and it had a real homely atmosphere. Other reviews have stated issues in relation to the bath times, but there is a shower that is available 24hrs a day on the 3rd floor. I stayed in the female only dorm and the bed was adequately comfortable,...

Guys, honestly, I had a great time here. It is close to Nara station, which make it very easy to reach from where ever you are. On the other side, it is close to the best temples, gardens and hill views in Nara. Everything you want to eat, drink or buy is around. Can you ever think about better location?...

We went to Nara for two days and stayed at ugaya guest house. Really well located. 5 minutes walk from the jr station and near the sights. It was clean. We slept in the traditional room and really liked it. The staff was nice and showed us were to eat and wath to visit. It's a good location to just...

This Guesthouse is conveniently located about 5-10 minutes from the JR station. The guesthouse has a small common area, which also functions as a cafe. The mixed dorms are okay, the bunk beds all have their own power outlet and wifi works well in dorms as well as the common area. The staff is friendly and speaks English.

This place is around 400m from JR Nara and we stayed at the mixed dorm. Frankly, I didn't like the place. The staff is not so friendly and helpful, they barely spoke english though this guy tried very very hard to convey his memorized house rules to us. And there's this guy who was in the kitchen cooking sounded and...

The rooms were very spacious for a dorm and the bunk beds were really comfortable and the largest ones out of all the hostels we stayed at! The staff was very nice and helpful. The common area downstairs was simply marvelous! It was very cozy and lovely to sit by the kotatsu table and drink their chai or eat the...

This was my first experience in a guesthouse and I was not disappointed. Situated about 5-7 minutes walk from Nara JR station, this guesthouse welcomes those who prefer the peace and quite of a residential area. Nestled amongst houses with a traditional feel, Nara guesthouse is also a book cafe to the public. There is only one floor of dormitory...

We booked the private room of the guest house. But to get to the room, we have to pass the dormitory room which was surprising room style and we did not feel like private. Location of the guest house was good to visit many attractions around Nara heritages. We liked the common space that equipped many books and we got...

Nara Ugaya is a tipicall hostel environment: cozy, friendly and full of easy going people; You can have a morning meal, or just a coffee. From the hostel, you can walk to Nara main attractions, and it´s also near the JR train station.
