This is an outstanding ryokan in an excellent location. The rooms are clean, well looked after and serviced everyday. The breakfasts are fantastic. They also offer excellent knowledge of Nara, including less busy routes to take, places to eat and shop and which gardens, temples...More
A traditional yet modern Ryoken experience. Ryokan Matsumae is owned by a calligraphy artist and it shows, everything is so aesthetic. The rooms are lovely, the food is excellent and the staff was very helpful. A great location for visiting Nara.

Dear Anna, sorry but the system doesn´t allow us to write the email. They have a Facebook page with all their info. Please chekc it out. For making a reservation, you have to send them an email. Write the dates, number of guests, room type (with or without bath) and they´ll answer you in a day or two. Good luck and enjoy your trip. This is a really nice ryokan, by the way. The owners are very nice people. Try the Japanese breakfast if you can.
