Saw this place on Internet while planning my Japan holiday. Really glad I made the effort. There is a bus from the station. I inadvertently got off the train a station too early, so walked awhile along the seaside. The hotel looks very old and dated, but hey, it's for the sand experience in my books. Staff pleasant, and very...

Aptly named, Ibusuki Iwasuki. Just came back from this Large 15 story hotel with nice grounds and exterior. Interior stale and neglected x decades. Bedding, rugs, raggedy dusty-browned curtains and furniture not changed since the 1970s Brady bunch years. Add a few years of smoking then and presently to get the right aroma. Think Bates motel meets The Shining meets...

I m staying here right now. Hotel is really impressive! Not just only it is huge, and it is too out-dated. I joined a tour to come here with my family, and our tour manager told us this hotel is famous for their sands bath. Unfortunately, i didnt have time to try it out due to time concern (we checked...

We stayed here for 2 nights, this hotel is renowned for its black sand Onsen but that wasn't what captivated me. I was out for a early morning run in a chilly 11C on the hotel's cycling track got blown away by its well maintained lawns, gardens and compound. The bonus was to discover that French national football team base...

This a very interesting hotel. Its huge but very decent and located in a very strategic area whereby in your room you can see a beautiful secluded sea area that has mountains a background with green surrounding in the foreground. Overall fantastic! This hotel also offers sunamushi-sand bath experience. We also had a fantastic set menu dinner here!

I vote 5 stars for a 4 stars quality hotel. Ibusuki Iwasaki is in a huge hill, and it is very large itself. However, the most attractive thing of the hotel is hot spring service with natural hot sand. It was the first time I went to Japanese and enjoyed onsen. It was wonderful feeling that I had never forget....

Spacious room with balcony facing the sea. Buffets in restaurants offer a great variety of Japanese and western cuisines. The hotel provides hot sand bath with a small amount of extra charge. Onsen (hot spring) in the hotel is also fine.

We enjoyed our stay in this impressively huge hotel (1 day), especially the hot sand bath that was quite an experience. Don't miss it. Even though the price is not included in the night price, you should know that it is integrated to the hotel and very handy to go to. The food served at the buffer at dinner is...

I stayed only one night. The reason I choose was there is a black sand bath in the hotel just only in Ibuski area. It was a huge resort, I can see a ocean in balcony at 7th floor. It was very nice. But, our room and corridor is too old to smell like some old furniture. It needs to...

We went to Ibusuki for a night hoping that it would be a highlight of our Kagoshima trip, and we were quite looking forward to it to be honest. We chose this hotel because it has its own sand bath and you can do a lot in it like a resort. When we arrived we discovered the hotel is large...
