Stayed overnight there after riding around Sakurajima Island in the shade of the active volcano. Large room with small veranda that overlooks Kinko Bay. Somehow from a different age, but clean and comfortable. The bath/shower was not in working condition, but the trip to the Onsen fed by hot springs was just minutes away at the lower level. We took a family tour (17 members) and we voted the stay at this hotel the best Japanese experience. Yes, the facilities is older but we all enjoyed the overall experience. We were welcomed by the friendly staff and were waited on attentively for the most part of the stay. As I completed checking in, the rest of the family...

We chose to stay here rather than the more well-known onsen hotel just a minutes walk away, as we thought we could walk to the famous onsen anyway but this hotel looked less old and tired.
