This was a very pleasant spot. I had a massive room, very well appointed, with a pleasant, shaded veranda and a nice view through trees to the beach (very close!). The pool area had amazing views across to nearby islands. The staff were helpful, but invisible when not needed. I wish I could have stayed longer.

We arrived at night so couldn't see the view but in the morning we saw that there was little or no beach. It was very disappointing. We picked this hotel thinking it was right on the coast so it would have a beach. It's quite far away from town so we spent a far amount on taxis. You could take the bus but it finished early and you could cycle but we were lazy :) The room was big but the restaurant had limited choice for dinner. Breakfast was typically Japanese which I didn't mind. The saving grace for this hotel were the staff. They went out of their way to help us by always trying to find us an English speaking staff or looking up information we had asked for. I guess that's what's nice about traveling around Japan. They always so honest, polite and kind.

One disappointment after another. It doesn't have access to the beach, you can't get into the sea, the hotel people tell you as soon as you arrive.
The staff leaves a lot to be desired, on more than one occasion, they didn't even answer my son's greeting when he saw them, and he asked why they didn't answer.
There are no restaurants for lunch, no cafeteria. They only serve drinks. The breakfast service is very precarious and with little variety.
I wanted to ask for cutlery to cut fruit and they denied me saying they didn't have any. (but of course there are cutlery for breakfast, you don't eat with your hands, right?) I had to tell them this so they would go looking for a spoon reluctantly, if they gave me just a spoon.
They don't make the room or straighten the sheets, nothing, they give you a 500 yen coupon to spend at the hotel that has nothing to spend it on. They don't even wash the glasses in the room, they leave them as is.
Not to mention that they do not change the towels for the pool if you want you have to pay extra for them. The pool is low and in summer the water is hot. I do not recommend it at all if you can go to another do not hesitate.
I stay in the new part of the building and it is quite noisy. The footsteps of the people above are heard.
I think the only great thing about the hotel is the photographer who took the photos for the website, excellent job.
I was really sorry to have stayed here for so many days, it was quite annoying.

This is not a 4 star hotel, yes it has a nice view and it is clean but that's where it ends. There is also NO BEACH even though they have it in their name, it's a concrete wall and the water is rough and thick with seaweed. The staff seem friendly and smiley but don't actually help you because they can't due to “hotel policies"; I'm five months pregnant and asked for a 30 minute to 1 hour late check out as was having a bad morning, they said they could offer that but I would have to pay £160 which is utterly ridiculous considering the time frame I requested. The breakfast is a large spread but it's the same thing every day, so we were sick to death of it by the end of our stay, the coffee is so bad its undrinkable which is odd as Japanese coffee is normally excellent. I've never stayed in a hotel before which has such an awful atmosphere, there's no bar or social area for guests of an evening so you just find yourself sitting in your room. They moaned at us for putting our chairs out on the balcony, even though there are no chairs provided for guests on the balcony. They wouldn't let two adults without any children borrow a knife to cut some fruit in their room and made us bring the fruit down and cut it in front of them. They are no cushions or beach towels provided for the pool area and they do not replace your towels for fresh in the evening if you have had to use them all day. They do not provide towels for the spa. The spa is closed all day for cleaning and you cannot gain access until 4. There are no refreshments for guests during the day and no open bar to purchase soft drinks during the day if you are using the pool area. They charge you £10 per day for bike hire when other hotels in the area offer them for free. Unless you have a car you are very limited to 3 evening resturants, the Japanese resturant two minutes from the hotel is very good though. The hotels resturant is over priced and nobody eats in there. The view is lovely and the rooms are large but decor very dated, its a very safe hotel for families with young children. Most of these issues highlighted are due to hotel policy and high end management and are not the fault of the staff. Overall it was a poor experience for us, we would not stay again.

The property is very well maintaine by a wonderful and helpful staff. However, contrary to the name of the hotel they have no beach. It's a just a seawall. Maybe the sand underneath would be exposed at low tide but we never got to see it during our four-night stay. The pool is great for lounging and watching sunset with an unobstructed view of Taketomi Island. Fusaki beach is just 5 minutes drive away.

We stayed in a standard room. Lots of outlets to charge devices. It's comfortable for two but there are not enough drawers to organize things. It's always kept nice and tidy. Wifi throughout the property is slow and unsecured.

The breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Lots of choices on their dinner menu too. They offered up beautifully laid out sets.

Love to enjoy Japanese Onsen even in Ishigaki. The hotel is located in seaside with small pool and onsen with great sea view. The hotel has free in-room wifi and car park. Buffet breakfast is good. It's around 5 mins drive from the city center. The drawback is that they the pool is open till 19:00 and the public bath is closed at 23:00 only.

We stayed at this hotel in the beginning of April 2012. Big family room with view over the sea, pool and garden.
The lifeguard was kind and cheerful. She explained to our kids the sealife walking them through in the shellow water. Our kids loved playing in the pool ... and afterwards warming up in the Onsen. They had lots of fun.
The Staff at the reception and in the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. Thank you very much for making our stay a good memory.

This hotel is a great base for exploring Ishigaki Island.

It is far enough out of the main city to be away from the noise and hassle but close enough to walk if you would like to go for dinner / day trips etc.

The hotel has its own restaurant and a beautiful infinity pool next to the water.

The best thing about the hotel was the staff who, despite our terrible knowledge of Japanese, always made far more than the necessary efforts to help us out at all times.

Hotel was old in general, but we reserved the new renovated wing of the hotel. Very Zen decor, gray tiled floors, elevators and wood furnitures.

Can smell the smell of paint/renovation in the building.

Reception area a triangular glass chapel overlooking the turquoise waters. Free wifi and parking. No king beds though, only two double beds pushed together. Balcony overlooking the sea. No beach at all, despite the name of the hotel.

A great hotel, in Japanese standards.
