Had a 3day2night holiday here last week. It was awesome. Clean and spacious room. Great KOSE products for usage. In room microwave. Though there isnt house keeping but its really not an issue. Breakfast was great. BBQ dinner was fun and delicious. Initially I din expect to have the BBQ dinner cause I thought it might be a little weird for solo traveller to do that but it all turns out great. They accommodate to my request, thank you so much. In addition, surprised me for my birthday. It was really touching of them to do that for me out of their goodwill. It was really unforgetable. Very friendly and patience staffs. Sorry to make them accompany me throughout my bbq experience (cause they need to ensure they are there if I need them). Weather was awesome but a little too cold hence I din use the swimming pool. Beach was just behind the resort, just a minute walk from the side. The famous Tamatorizaki observatory tower is just about 10 minutes walk away. Best way to reach this resort is via car or taxi. If you are taking bus there, make sure you dont reach there too late, do check buses frequency. In conclusion, Yokabushi is awesome place to relax, if only I reside in Ishigaki, I will go there often. But I am sure to visit again whenever I visit Ishigaki again. Thank you so much for the 3days. Thank you for the superb hospitality. I really had an unforgetable experience. Love you guys!

The hermitage hotel is a lovely and quiet secluded place where one can enjoy the spacious rooms with private terrace, the pool or the beach nearby. There are also mountain bikes that you can borrow if you don't have a car.
The staff is nice and helpful.
The chef cooks delicious Okinawaian cuisine and western style cuisine, and the breakfast is just of the perfect size and variety.
A very few weak points that can be annoying if you expect resort service: there is not a lot of staff and sometimes you can't find someone at the desk. The beach is quite wild, so a bit of cleaning close to the hotel would have been appreciated. I love fresh squeezed juices and they didn't have any, though they serve some everywhere else...

The BBQ 🍖 there was so delicious!! There was Ishigaki Beef, potatoes🥔, chicken meat, and even Okinawa yakisoba! There even was giant marshmallow for dessert! (Not to mention the blue seal ice cream!)😋

The bathroom in the room was unlock-able, but there was 2 bedrooms and it was... AWESOME!

The breakfast there was really good, too. The homemade bread 🍞 was cute and delicious! Some of them were sweet and some of them were for actual breakfast!

The pool filter and the automatic door was broken, but the owner was very nice to us😁

In conclusion, I rate this place 4 out of 5!

It was the first time for us to visit Ishigaki Island and it was fortunate that we made a right choice. We spent 3 nights in one of Villas. Due to our flight schedule, we arrived at the resort at around noon (standard check in time at 3pm) and the staff was very kind to allow us to check in. The resort is located near Tamatorizaki Observatory and gave a feel of "hidden resort". There is an option of self BBQ in the resort and we bought fresh local produce (island vegetables, Ishigaki beef, pork) and enjoyed a beautiful BBQ experience. It takes 30-40 minutes to go to downtown of the island and it is ideal to rent a car while staying in the Ishigaki Island. The resort offered a tailor made map to visit Northern par of the island which was extremely helpful. We would love to stay again.

It's a wonderful place, but if you're going, go while you're young! And in the summer!
It's fine for foreigners, but for Japanese people, the baths are too stylish to use, and the cold stone bath hits you right in the back (lol).
I think it might be a bit tough for families with small children or older people.

But it's very stylish, so it's the perfect place for young groups or couples to enjoy a romantic getaway.

It was too cold when I went and I couldn't enjoy it to the fullest, but I think the barbecue and cottages are great on warm days.

The staff at Studs were very friendly and helpful, and we talked a lot, so I had a great time.

"Far from the big island resort the beach is very wild but your the only one on earth! If you expect to visit the island don't count on buses, rather on bicycles (distances can be quite impressive) or on a rental car Room with private terraces on the wilderness are really cool and quiet. If you're afraid of bugs, and other wild animals (crabs, geckos...) be aware that they are plenty on the island and sometimes they enter the room!"
