The public onsen is fantastic! I could bathe in different types of hot springs (from indoors onsens to bubbling beds and open-to-nature baths). The staff was very helpful and they kindly made a very detailed plan (in Japanese) for us to get to Aoshima (taxi, train and ferry) to see one of the cat islands in Japan. It was a...

People in reception were helpful even sometime difficult to understand each other. I did expect more from this hotel considering the price. Nice for the SPA but very dated and location quite far from Matsuyama. Connected with busses to the center of Matsuyama even frequency not too high.

The hotspring is good but need to walk up stairs after shower. The food is good with great variety, however the staff is relatively unfriendly to the Japanese standard. The lady serving dessert in dinner was literally rude, while I was asking for a jelly cup and pudding very politely and she was like throwing the dish on the counter....

This hotel is is located at remote area of Matsuyama city and at riverside. It features in its hot spring which has medical benefit. Legend says a crane who hurt his leg was cured after having hot spring in Matsuyama. This hotel has multiple pools of hot spring, one of them has hot spring texture (they say it's hot spring...

Ok, I went there just for the onsen, didn't stay there. Good that you can book a private onsen for 30$ per hour. Perfectly clean and good option for those who have tattoos, are shy, or whatever who don't like public onsen (like me). And btw, you can cool down the water at your convenience (always found onsen water too...

Hotel ==== The hotel is built in 1960, and although it has been renovated a bit, it is very worn. It used to have it's own cable-car to the mountain just across the river, as well as a nice nature walk, but both are closed down (broken down). It features a big outdoor "Jungle Spa" which is worn but well-kept....

Really, very good value for price (especially after 10 days in Tokyo and Kyoto). I partially agree with the 2 earlier reviews in English, but overall I felt very satisfied with this hotel. My room was spacious, even by american standards. Very good western-style bathroom: everything worked well. View on forest was relaxing. Very very nice staff, I was impressed...

This hotel is far from matsuyama train stations and area sights. The hotel itself is very outdated. Hard spring beds, hard pillows, old carpet , and very expensive buffet dinner. The plus is their hot spring baths which guests can enjoy for free. The view is stunning as all rooms are mountain/ forest views and it's gorgeous. The location itself...

Stayed for one night with our 3 young childeren. In room with private bath. Room in general ok, the bathrom needed some refurbishment. The private bath size is big enough for 2 adults. Dinner and breakfast were part of the deal and ok, not special a I do expect in this kind of resort. In general the stay was good...

“If you want a private onsen you should check in early. However, the public onsens were fantastic and personally way better than the private.”

“We insisted on a non-smoking room (having booked a smoking) and got a room upgrade to a small "suite" with semi-separated sofa area. This room was much better than the regular double, and would be worth the extra money. Also, make sure to take a room rate that includes breakfast + dinner, as you will not go away from hotel to eat. Or eat at 4th floor shopping + bar arcade (but do not expect "real" food here).”

“If you have a bit more to spend the room with the private bath is an god option.”
