It's a budget lodge with dorms and a few cottages, but it is clean and attracts a nice crowd, especially the locals at night, who hang out there for drinks. The location is very convenient to getting local transportation on the main road, or to see the cathedral. The food is basic, but good. The highlight of my stay was...

If you come to Blantyre either as a backpacker (that wants to sleep in a dorm room) or as a tourist with some expectations (running water, electricity 24/7, ... things like that) it's the only place to go. But the prices are quite high (15$ for a bed in a 6-bed-dorm with no fan and not including breakfast and not...

So my first time in Malawi and experiencing all the local spots I nearly had a fit getting to Doogles through all the chaos of taxis and people. I was however pleasantly surprised once we entered the premises, looks very clean and comfortable with a nice pool to sink into out of the Malawian heat. We had a few beers,...

I really like the staff in Doogles and it's fine as a place to stay but I think it would benefit from a bit of competition from another backpacker place. It's really really expensive for what it is. I think it cashes in on the fact its the only place that does dorm rooms. I stayed at Doogles for a...

I only stayed in Blantyre for one night, and it was my first night in Malawi, so it's hard to comment on value for money, but it seemed reasonable to me. I had booked a dorm room and had asked for a female dorm room, but they told me at the time of booking couldn't be guaranteed, so I was...

Have been staying at Doogles on and off over past 3 years. They got a new manager Lana 6 months ago and she is making lots of improvements - good to see. Some new vegie options on the menu which are good and breakfast is always fast and fresh and great coffee. Also good to see more power points to...

Perhaps once the place for travellers to be in Blantyre, Doogles has gone completely downhill. My friend and I stayed in the dorm room which was quite dingy and in slight need of a facelift. The next morning I woke up covered in BED BUG bites. If I am going to pay 10,000 MK (a bit less than 20 CAD)...

Doogles is by far the best value for money place to stay in Blantyre. Upon first approach the location looks slightly dodgy (behind the bus station), but security into the grounds is good with extra security to get to dorms. The dorms are around a really nice little patio area, a sanctuary in the middle of Blantyre. Good, homely, quick...

My friends and I had an amazing lunch experience at doogles. The food was fresh, filled with herds and originality. The salad was absolutely the best I have ever had!!! The prices are fair. The customer care is great, the people are friendly and welcoming. You feel right at home.

The rooms are spacious and the interior is well decorated. It is conveniently situated within Blantyre, making it easy to get from place to place. The atmosphere is relaxing during the day and lively during the evening setup. Furthermore, the drinks were reasonably priced and provision of a wide range of "Malawian" brewed drinks were made available. This is the...
