This is a remote Island feeling without being too remote. Only 20 minutes by boat from the mainland of Malaysia. Great to switch off from day to day life. No internet and no aircon.

Hello mate. I'm one of the dive instructors at SG, nice to hear your thinking of coming diving with us. I've always said the same thing to people, our visibility may sometimes dip to as low as 5m, but you'll see more in that 5m here than you would in 15m anywhere else. The reef systems are huge and incredibly busy with shoal fish everywhere. In terms of bigger stuff, we get sea turtles, blue spotted stingrays, moray eels, and black tip reef sharks.

sorry, but it's really impossible to say on any given day what the sand flies will be like. after 26 years i still can't give you an answer, they can be there one minute and completely gone the next. constant cleaning and a spraying & fogging program help terrifically but the best solution is our bush remedy:
2.5ml liquid disinfectant
10ml Tee Tree oil
Mix and pour into a spray bottle
Note: spray liberally, drip in oil, do not apply like a cream
Don't forget to apply to feet & ankles BEFORE getting out of your road transport on the mainland, many wooden jetties on the mainland harbour sand fly but, since the irritation doesn't always start immediately, people believe they have been got at their destination!
