This lodge is open and airy with gorgeous wooden window shutters in all of the rooms which either open up to the gardens surrounding the building. Internet wifi works mostly well. In my experience so far in Malaysia and Singapore, I'd rate it 7/10 as it is slightly patchier than other places. Breakfast is modest, but the coffee is good...

Very seldom do you find a peaceful lodge at the middle of a busy street. It is located at the heart of George town and all major landmarks are within 5 to 10 mins range if you are cycling ( easily available nearby). Also has a good parking space available.(although its better not to have a car due to traffic...

Location was really good, although the place is very basic and I certainly wouldn't call it a hotel and I've stayed in better hostels before. Overall it was pretty clean, not modern at all, no soap in dispenser in shared bathroom and the worst thing BEDBUGS! Left with a lot of itchy bites... Personally wouldn't recommend this place.

I have been to many hotels and a few hostels and by far, Mr. Andrew, is the most benovelent, kind and patient host you will ever meet in this industry. He gave Hutton lodge the extra boost that no other hostel has. But even in terms of food, comfort, cleanliness and location, Hutton meets the standards. Location: It's 15 mins...

Quiet and cozy retreat in a restored historic building, almost too quiet at times as it’s like you’re the only one staying there. Not a place for you to socialize, if you're looking for someone to chat. The staff is helpful and pleasantly friendly. The downside however is that it’s located between busy thoroughfares which makes walking somewhat unsafe due...

More of a hostel rather than a hotel, Hutton Lodge is a quaint lodging in a heritage building right on the cusp of the Penang UNESCO world heritage precinct. The rooms are made up of a mixture of dorms with shared bathroom facilities to "Double Deluxe with En suite" rooms - which is what I book for a mere SG$65...

Stayed here for three nights with a friend. Very calm location, but still only a short walk from attractions of Georgetown. Great service and super friendly staff, who had good tips on what to do in Penang. Quite surprisingly the fastest laundry I've ever used (about two hours and I received my clothes all clean and folded). I recommend the...

Convenient location for tourists as it is within walking distance to the inner Georgetown attractions. My room was clean and very basic with no TV or bathroom attached. There was free wifi available and also a simple breakfast included in my room rate. Suggest you forgo the breakfast for better food at nearby local coffee shops. Be sure to ask...
