This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. The bed was comfy, the showers were warm and with good pressure, the bathrooms were clean and the breakfast was excellent for a hostel. We were actually served warm breakfast for free every day, and we didn't have to do the dishes. The staff were always helpful (except...

Wow this is the place to stay in Penang! The hostel is very clean! The staff is so kind and helpfull! And the best thing is the breakfast! The best breakfast I had in a malaysian hostel! It's a buffet, you can eat what you want: sausages, noodles, eggs, mash patatoes, beans, bread & jam, coffee and tea... Really, my...

Loved the private room. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything you need without any excess. The location of the hostel was also great, it was only 10 minutes to walk to any place we needed to. Finally, found the desk staff (particularly Wan) to be knowledgeable and helplful. Would definitely come back here again.

This hostel really is a 'boutique' category. It is well designed, contrasting the local heritage to contemporary-minimalist design. The room, showers and toilets are clean. I like that they served different menu for breakfast everyday when I was there.

Liked: Easy to find, centrally located, good AC, big in-room lockers, an individual light and outlet by each bed, free breakfast, lots of toilet stalls and showers, quiet at night Disliked: Meddlesome cleaning crew, buggy downstairs, staff overcharge for intercity buses, weak Wi-Fi signal that cuts out a lot Overall: Probably wouldn't stay here again--there are lots of other hostels...

Dear MT_Vancouver, Thank you for your review and hoping you're on enjoying the rest of your travelling journey. I am somehow surprised to read your comment re guests having to change beds every night. I don't think this has happened before and what I understand is that we try to keep long staying guests on the same bed for their...

A really nice place to stay! Well located, comfy beds. Clean dorm with big lockers and A/C. Free water and cookies! :) The breakfast was also nice: boiled eggs, toasts, jam, butter, coffee or tea, sausages, rotis, beans! A variety to choose from. The staff friendly and very helpful. Would come back again! Thanks for everything!

Ryokan is one of the best hostels I've stayed in. Great staff- Mac is amazing ! He knows everything and is always willing to help and point you in the right direction. Great location, great but a bit random breakfast, the rooms are nice and cool which is needed to escape the hot city!

Well organized, cleaned often during the day, good showers and beds (kind of foamy mattress liked it!). Mac will welcome you like a friend at the front desk and even remember your name for the whole stay if you smile back enough! Had 4 nights there, met amazing travellers. Very good location in town to see around. Make sure you...

This is a well located hostel for a very good value, considering that breakfast is included. I stayed in room 205 (female dorm) and didn't have an issue with noise. The rooms are pretty small and pitch dark but with AC. Bathrooms were clean enough. If you come by train to Butterworth, just take the ferry, which is a 5min...

The room was comfortable and clean. The linens were clean. The breakfast was amazing and Mack, the host, was awesome. The only downside would be the bathrooms that were always kind of messy. They really need to figure out a way to keep them clean and dry.
