Hot shower, good bed, own balcony (stayed in the dorm), good price (22 ringit), in little India, everything near by, great owners. All in all: really good place to stay! They have laundry, tickets for busses (but they were very kind to tell me that the one around the corner was actually cheaper than they were) so they are also...

This hostel is in the heart of little India and the bus stop is literally a two second walk, if you need to get ANYWHERE! really good location! My boyfriend and I stayed in a double room with shared bathroom... for the price it was really reasonable! The bathrooms were always spotless which is always a bonus 😉 The two...

A lot of people's reviews also depend on what sort of place they stayed previously or what they follow it up with. Over the years of extensive travelling, I've come to admire these rough around the edges sort of places. Where things are not perfect but certainly more value for what you pay. The real charm of such places is...

Extremely helpful and friendly reception staff; really way more so than you would normally be lucky enough to encounter. Very clean establishment with some nice extras like free tea, coffee, books to exchange and DVDs to borrow for the small in room TVs with DVD players. It is very centrally located so expect there to be noise in the surrounding...

The place is clean, staffs are extremely friendly, bed is comfortable enough. For such a price, you have nothing more to ask for. The place is near Little India, at a busy street and bustling with activities. Expect to be noisy. For people who can sleep easily like me, I have no problems. Restaurants and places to eat are within...

Cocoa Mews was an okay place to stay. The owners had no control over it, but unfortunately, there is an extremely noisy mosque nearby that broadcasts its prayers over loudspeakers at 6 in the morning, as well as at three other times during the day. Staying here essentially gave me insomnia as every time I fell asleep comfortably, I would...

Clean place, friendly staff, who are very knowledgable about surrounding attractions, AC was nice and cool in the rooms, rooms did have thin walls though, and the stairs isn't the most quiet. Free tea in the mini kitchen, but no lounge. Outside there are some chairs to lounge, but that is it. In the heart of town.

The staff at Cocoa Mews are excellent, they went so far out of our way to make sure we saw the best George Town has to offer we ended up on a personal street food tour that taught us more about more about the history of George Town than any guide book could and gave us a real insight in...
