A great stay in a beautiful building right in the middle of bustling Georgetown. Loved everything about it - lots of quirky detail but never to the detriment of comfort. All the staff were friendly and helpful to a fault. Plainly decorated rooms but with fabulous bathrooms and a GREAT shower.

Very nice stay at Ren i Tang. Room was perfectly comfy and staff is really nice and helpfull. Located in the lively Little India neighbourhood, perfectly central. Restaurant offers a nice choice of dishes. Breakfast could offer more fruits and 100% fruit juice. Really recommanded.

I stayed one night (3rd floor, street side). The room was spacious and very clean. Nice bathroom and shower area. For me, the bed was a bit soft, but slept ok. There was street noise until about 10pm when it appeared that shops were closing (it also rained about the same time and things quieted down quickly then. I really...

I visited this place last year. There is something quite magical about this hotel but I can't put my finger on what it is. The location is fantastic, very busy in the day and quiet at night. The girls who work here are amazing, by the time you leave it's like leaving family. And....they have introduced me to Penang White...

Sensitively and beautifully restored building in a fantastic location; open the windows and shutters in your room and let the sounds and fragrances of Georgetown's Little India drift in. Comfortable room, fantastic shower, good breakfast and the friendliest staff you could wish for. If there's a better place to stay in the historic heart of Georgetown I'd like to know...

Very special boutique hotel set in the middle of the action. The restoration has been done very well and it is a pleasure to stay there. A special mention to the staff who really create the atmosphere. Full marks! This is the personal style that differentiates this type hotel from the chains. Note of caution: rooms can be a bit...

Amazing place, brilliant team of people behind it. Albeit the price, it really adds up to the value. I would highly recommend you this place if you are in for some heritage feeling home while still feeling hip with the modern vibes around the building fused with things from the past. I stayed in loft 18 with my girlfriend. Room...

Out of 6 hotels visited in Malaysia, this was the best one. With limited number of rooms, basic but yet functional amenities & correct-matching decoration, it allows anyone to feel honored to stay on an heritage site. I personally loved the bathroom amenities, especially the 100% natural soap. And WiFi was good enough for me to work at distance, just...

Great location, lovely building and rooms and exceptional staff. We arrived late Friday night yet someone stayed up to let us in and show us to our room. The interior is simple but the whole building has been renovated while still maintaining the history and ambience of the old building. We asked to check out half an hour later than...

It was a history lesson and a vacation at the same time.I stayed in Loft 17 and the view from the window was unique.Normally you only see the sea view or the street view of Penang but this view was something I have never seen before, it wasn't all posh and nice but the imperfections in the view made it...

“We had a family room which meant two rooms - a large room with plenty of space and chairs and a table plus a smaller room towards the back. The main room had shutters opening out on the the busy street below - fantastic for watching the world go round. But then shut up tight at night to ensure no noise. Perfect.”
