We have spent a week in Mauritius in Feb'19. La Pirogue resort, Flic en Flac proved an excellent choice to stay - (1) smoothly run place offering top of grade services on all fronts, (2) friendly people with just the right portion of humour (thank you Goodeo), (3) exotic

Dear Skb64, Thank you for your comments posted on TripAdvisor. We do endeavor to make each and every experience of our valued guest a memorable one. I am pleased you appreciated our courtesy and the special treatments we afford our valued guests. However, we have “mighty bright” menu lights in all outlets for reading the menu. In addition all tables have candlelight centre pieces. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back again sometime soon and we remain at your entire disposal to assist with a future booking or any preferences you may have. Thanks again for your valued remarks. Warm Regards, Andrew Slome General Manager

Dear OfftheirP, First of all, I would like to thank you for the opportunity you have given us to host you and for taking the time to provide a detailed review of your stay, we do appreciate that most of the facilities offered were to your satisfaction. Similarly, we are glad that you could use the facilities of our sister hotel Sugar Beach. Concerning the swimming pool, I would like to mention that Our guests may also enjoy the two swimming pools available at Sugar Beach among which one is an adult only pool. We are sorry that Magenta restaurant was not to your liking, although we organise weekly a Seafood BBQ on the beach at a supplement for our inhouse guests. We will share your comments with our Food & Beverage Manager and the Executive Chef in order to identify possible amendments. The all inclusive package as described is opted by many guests as being the best value for money alternative when travelling to a destination like Mauritius. As the hotel runs other non-all-inclusive packages in parallel as well, we endeavour to offer all our guests the opportunity to benefit from items not included in their package as well, but at reduced prices taking into consideration the fact that you have already paid more to be on all-inclusive. We certainly look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back to La Pirogue Resort & Spa during your next visit to Mauritius and do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance. Your well being is our concern and we shall try to provide you our best services at all times. Kind regards, Andrew Slome, General Manager

Hi . We found the half board more than adequate. with a late breakfast ie active morning and a relatively early supper with our own snacks for a light lunch we were very happy not to eat hotel food 3 times a day. The resturant in flic and flac are good and a great vibe and change from hotel environment. Public transport is available and a real adventure if you have kids Also we bought our own wine and whiskey from duty free on flight. Plus we went to the local supermarket for our beers. so lunch time and the most beautiful sundowner sunsets did not feel like we were breaking the bank. Enjoy Plus book your meals at the different resturants at lapirogue and sister hotel Sugar beach on half board. loads of fun and choice. Enjoy

Hi Darren, we stayed in a garden bungalow and it was lovely. We were there for three nights for an event held at Sofitel. La P has sweeping grounds and unless the premium bungalow is right on the water, I can’t imagine it’s worth it to upgrade. You can always ask when you get there and decide on property if they have one open. My husband works on Mauritius (we’re Americans) and consequently we have visited a lot of resorts. I really liked the pace at La P. Eating is really easy, the service was good, and the food was also good- but mostly buffets as I recall. The spa is great too. If you are a foodie and, all inclusive aside, want one meal off property, walk down the beach to Sofitel for a meal. Skip mediocre Sugar Beach and the Hilton (between La P and Sofitel). Sofitel is like a quick trip to Asia/Thailand. Great architecture. Have a wonderful time and if I can answer any other questions, it would be my pleasure. November is the best month to come to Mauritius. We are up in Grand Baie

The premium bungalows have added amenities such as nespresson machines, Bluetooth. They also offer sea views - so are located a bit better then the standard garden bungalows

U don't need to worry about anything re pre booking. You will introduced to a team member who will go through all the land and see based options. This includes touring the island and it's geographic and cultural attractions. May I suggest strongly the hotel arranged snorkelling. It is part of your package and free AND managed with your safety in mind. It is guided. Enjoy la pirogue.

We also stayed at La Pirogue in june end. Dress code for dinner is shirt & long trousers (jeans also) for men. No such dress code for women. We used "Taxis Mauritius" for airport pick & drop. This company is mostly recommended here in TripAdvisor, & I also found them quite good. It's approx 70 euro for return trip. Premium Garden bungalow will be more private but yes beach pavilion room will be convenient to rest of resort. No such night life at flic n flac area but you can try "Shotz". We used to return from our day trip by 6 pm as suggested by tour operators. Many things to see & places to visit. You will get many tour operators in nearby locality or ask hotel reception, they will connect you with them. Use "Shibani finance" for money exchange at airport. They also have office at Flic n flac. Wishing you a happy & memorable journey.
