Detailed Reviews
We never stayed at Sunset Reef, but it's the second time that we've had an experience there. The first thing you see when you arrive at this 3* hotel is a simple, beautifully decorated lobby and amazing reception team 😍. They're fully bilingual and have good communication skills.
We booked the hotel for an 💞#anniversary dinner (40 pax) and all the procedures were made swiftly online and via phone. Arveend Sookha from the Sales & Marketing Dept was our point of contact and I must say that he is an extremely professional person with a fantastic attitude.
The price quoted was very good and some of us will surely book a stay soon because of the excellent rates that they offer for accommodation. The food and service was very good, the music was excellent (we danced a lot) and the setup great. We had apéro on the beach and dinner in the #restaurant. There was a sega show after dinner 💃 and that was really special!
Thanks to the Sunset Reef team, you rock 😊
If you're looking for the perfect place to relax and forget about #covid 19, this is the place to be. No fuss, no #stress, you will just feel connected to the peacefulness of the sea there.

Disclaimer: I only visited the spa.
I went there for a spa treatment, and it was amazing. Value for money and nice spa cabin. After my massage I went for a swim but the staff would stare at you. The shower area is not so great. You will be able to shower but not to have some warm water or shampoo or shower gel. But, if you focus on the massage, it was an 8/10 and if you focus on the amenities it was a 4/10.
Note: I haven't use the rooms. So, the review does not include that of the rooms. The amenities might be different there!

We visited this small but very nice hotel during the day to visit friends. We stayed in another one.
This allowed us to get an impression of the hotel complex and the hotel team.
The hotel has a very nice pool, bar and restaurant. All are facing the ocean. Just fantastic!
During the mealtimes you can relax and listen to the sound of the sea. The kitchen is open so guests can watch the food being prepared. Which I personally think is great. And the food is very good here.
We celebrated my son's birthday here with our friends.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel manager personally inquires about the well-being of his guests and is available for questions or information. A good soul like we think.
We will definitely come back.

My 6 days stay at Sunset Reef was a huge disappointment. It started with the exterior that I found so bare although inside the hotel was amazing sonalso the room that is spacious, neat and airy with a seductive view of the sea.
The front desk/reception should be trained to be more polite. I landed in the night after about 18hours flight and the card was not working, I had previously made down payment for a night yet the receptionist will not allow me access my room for that night and sort out the rest of my stay the following day insisting I must complete the payment before been shown my room as it is the hotel policy.
I also found the staff not quite friendly which is unusual. The Spa closes by 4pm before I return from my meeting and the day I made a reservation, it was not in the record surprisingly notwithstanding that the lady at spa wrote it down herself.
The restaurant gives a wonderful view of the sea but the way the food is kept is unhygienic. The breakfast is also ordinary and monotonous, there is need for variety. The food is also too pricey and the chef need to up his game.
It is also proper that a complimentary bottle of water should be provided for guests especially considering that most guests came from far off distance. A hotel.of their status should offer complimentary water at least as a welcoming gesture.
The location of the hotel and its view of the sea is amazing and I urge anybody who wishes to have a better view of the sea to take a room upstairs backing the sea.
Overall, my experience was a huge disappointment.

One of the worst experience at a "hotel". Nearer to a guesthouse grade!
Go at your OWN RISK....
The first day we wanted to leave the hotel asap....(the staffs are all jack of all trade)
1. There is no one to bring your luggage to the room as the receptionist tried to do it
2. The room was not that clean....pillows etc seemed to have been hand washed at best and there were "traces of dirt" left from previous occupants.
3. The restaurant was old but worse it lacked hygiene....the housekeeping staffs were also cooks, waiters, gatemen etc. Food was prepared under a "tent" in the car park.
4. Rats everywhere, the kitchen utensils were often dirty as they were washed just behind by 1 person.
5. Food lacked variety and often in LIMITED edition! Eg breakfast: some french fries, sausage if available, baked beans, 1 or 2 varieties of fruits at best or nothing at all, the omelette was being done in a pan which has not been washed for years with carbon deposits clearly to be seen....you often need to ask the staff for food as it is vert limited and you may even need eg to take 1 piece of chicken to ensure other guests can eat as well.
Not value for money and those who put 5 stars are those who have been able to have eg the food first before it is finished or have received a complimentary drink from the staff to calm them down!
Go and see for yourself

I’ve been to sunset reef for a relaxing weekend , after reading these review I was afraid of making the wrong choice , but thankfully i had the best weekend , such a loving atmosphere saturday night where there was karaoke night , the guys sang so nicely which made a loving atmospheric , There was a buffet of selected choice ( seafood , Mix salads , Meat , Fatata , Rice , Bread , Vegetables corner ) frankly speaking The food was soo good and tasty that I ate twice. Even the dessert was good where we were served of juicy mix fruits and “ sagool”
On the next morning , I had a dream breakfast with a a great seaview and wonderful staff.
Highly recommended
Thanks to all personnel.

Room was nice. Nice bath tub and good room set up. Location of the room 107 is in front of pool, ground floor, very close to the bar and restaurant. However, facilities were not good. TV live channels keep buffering. Fridge (mini bar) was not ready and switched off. Decent size pool with warm water ( not sure if heated).
Sea front hotel but swimming is not possible. No beach to enjoy. Staff was nice and welcoming. Manager Manoj was very helpful.
The thing we didn’t like was the food. The range of the buffet and the food quality was nowhere near 3 star. I would strongly recommend the management to review the restaurant set up and more importantly the choices of food. Staff in the restaurant need to be better trained. We were not offered to drink during our lunch and there were staff everywhere and restaurant was not busy.
I would love to go back if i hear positive feedback about the restaurant.

We had the worst experience we have ever had as a family in a hotel. Hotels are clean! Hotels have menus, and clean white towels and clean bedding with fluffy pillows! This establishment has neither of the above. The staff don't communicate, set us up in a dirty room with filthy linen on the bed. The pillows on the beds are terrible, the beds are terrible - we woke up every morning with a sore body. Their Food is the worst I have set eyes on in all my years on earth. Unappealing to the eye, so unappealing to eat. I will never recommend this place to anybody. In Fact it should be closed down or sold to someone who knows how a Hotel should be run. We paid Half Board fees for food we never ate. So disappointing!!!!!!

We really appreciated the setting and the location of the hotel! Of course it's not a club hotel and that's a good thing because we came with 3 adults and the stay was very pleasant! The welcome received was perfect, right through to the kitchen and the bar with our little bartender Kesurgen! Everyone has been so helpful! The rooms are spacious and clean, certainly the hotel is not new but it is very well located, bus stop on the way out, cabins to eat all the local specialties, the beach, small supermarkets and very welcoming people in the street! Even the weekend entertainment made us happy! If you are looking for a 4 or 5 star then go your way and if you want to authenticate it, go there with your eyes closed! Exceptional sunsets as a bonus!
