For: great house, lots of character, fab location, the excellent Abdul and family, beautiful light-filled room (on top floor), all very well looked after, good shared facilities, quiet (apart from the call to prayer! which we actually grew to like), good views Against: top floor bathroom for emergency use only - it's just too low of ceiling. Lots of stairs!...

An extended family of 9 enjoyed our stay at Riad de la Mer the last week of February, right from our arrival - when Abdul sent a man to take our luggage and show us the way. (The medina can be pretty confusing before you get to know it). The house is extremely central in the heart of the medina...

We had a family holiday over Xmas 2014 in this lovely riad. Ideal size for 8 adults and 2 small children - each family had a separate floor. Abdul was at Marrakesh airport as arranged with a taxi and a minibus. The journey to Essaouira was long but worth it! Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the fish quay and beach...

Our second pre- Christmas stay after a break of 5 years and the Riad has lost none of its charm. As before we stayed in the studio and enjoyed peace and quite until the early morning call to prayer - which we celebrated by going back to sleep... Saida continues to keep the place spotless and to lay on her...

Returned last week after spending 5 nights in Riad de la Mer which was a welcome break after the hussle of Marrakech - superb location in central Essaouira. Less than 5 minute walk from the beach and to the shops! Lovely - would definitely return. Word of warning about the wind, although it was mid August, the wind was still...

Excellent location 2 mins from the sea and a nice place to stay. Could be hard to find but Diane was very helpful in organising someone to meet us at the bus station. Room was nice and comfortable and the breakfast on the terrace adequate. Small issue in that you could only get wifi on the ground floor

Stayed at riad de la mer in nov. We had the top floor room which was lovely, with our own terrace which had lovely views over essaouira. Abdul was very helpful if we needed any information. His wife and son served breakfast on the terrace and were very courteous. Essaouira is a lovely place, and if we return we would...

We had a very pleasant stay in Essaouira, very nice little town, laidback and relax... not as busy as Marrakech, vendors not as pushy as in Marrakech. No noise of cars, truck, buses etc.... We liked the riad very much... our room on the fourth fwas great, we enjoyed our private terrace a lot, great place to watch the sunrise/sunset.

We rented the entire Riad for a week during August and it was simply the best decision we could have made. Booking was easy and Diane was extremely responsive and helpful. The Riad is just an amazing house, with six rooms and i lost track of how many bathrooms - tastefully decorated and super comfortable. We were three couples and...
