We had a very pleasant stay in this wonderful region of Morocco. The rooms have been spacious and well equipped. In July it was hot outside but the thick brick wall keeps the heat outside. A source is nearby, a walk possible. But to wander around, enjoy nature with its animals, trees and stones there is a very welcoming pleasure to urban people as we are. But the most convincing must be the two owners with their charm and jokes!
The owners are a nice Moroccan couple who are extremely friendly and helpful! The surroundings are quite idyllic, (hike right out the front door!), and the home-cooked Tangine is not to be missed. There had been a mix up with our dates so when we arrived they were not expecting us, much less anybody else in Late February, but they graciously opened their home and kitchen to us and even made sure to provide extra space heaters for our cold room! (The place doesn't have heat but if your not traveling in winter that won't be a problem). If you are traveling to Morocco you shouldn't miss Ifrane, and if you're visiting Ifrane you won't be treated better anywhere.
I stayed here on a recent trip to Morocco and was thoroughly delighted with the service received. The couple who run the place are extremely friendly and helpful and offer a real insight into Moroccan life. Rooms were clean, comfortable and cosy while the location was absolutely stunning. Ask Mr. Mehdi for suggested walks - troops of Barbary Macaques can be spotted in the surrounding forest - Azrou and Ifrane can also be reached on foot. All in all, a perfect place to relax for a few days in peaceful mountainous surroundings.
If you like hiking and cycling and you don't mind the intimacy of a family setting, this is the auberge for you. The rooms are friendly and breakfast is excellent. Service is friendly and sociable and paper-work is done by the book. Your hosts can set you up with excellent mountain bikes to explore the surroundings. If you do so, beware of the many dogs, however.
A very nice place, very calm. Ask Mr Mehdi for a walk around he knows the best itineraries. Rooms are rustics but it is ok. Unfortunately there is no cooking which is very bad when you have to take your car to go for 10 km to Ifrane or Azrou for diner. This is why overall rating s médium.
