The moment I took off from Lusaka via Johannesburg to Walvis Bay, I had this assurance within me that I was going to a place that will help me get some rest from the hustle and bustle of life. Staying at Protea Hotel Pelican Bay truly helped get this rest. The hotel is good generally and so is the staff... More

Staff here were not particularly warm, but were at least efficient. The bedroom was comfortable, but old fashioned and the window and door frames need replacing. Great views and a handy location for the kayaking trip pick-up (opposite) and The Raft and Anchors restaurants. Breakfast was OK, but nothing out of the ordinary.

I have not visited Walvis Bay before. I thought, having stayed at a Protea Hotel before in South Africa, that it would be a safe choice to book with Protea in Walvis Bay. Huge mistake!!!! They advertise a 4 star rating....it actually deserves only 1 star at best. I arrived to find they booked me into a room with single... More

WOW for $100 USD I stayed in a King Bed Room with a balcony facing the bay. Beautiful sunset and sunrise. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel is older and not super luxury but for the price you cant complain. Also check out my review for THE RAFT Restaurant right next door.

We stayed at this hotel on 26 and 27 August with our two kids. The setting is lovely, overlooking the lagoon and a few steps away from Anchors restaurant and Raft restaurant. The linen in the room is clean, but worn - our linen had grey stains on, not from being dirty though. The bathroom cupboard's hinges were loose. A... More

The Pelican Bay Hotel is a trusted hotel where I stay when in Walvis Bay. It is located at the Walvis Bay lagoon which the rooms overlook, giving you a very good view of one of the ecological spectacles of the Namibian Coast. It is a good hotel for family holidays and business trips as it offers a full range... More

This place is right on the water and about a two minute walk from the docks where all the tourists boats leave from in Walvis Bay. It's not in the heart of downtown but it's not too bad of a walk.
