This lodge has been upgraded recently and we thought it was fantastic. Large rooms, a pleasant dining area with great food, lots of wildlife and very professional and friendly staff and guides. Thanks to our guide Christian and the lodge manager Carlo. Go there!

We came here with our Intrepid tour. It was an awesome experience. Our guides Christian & Ivan were great. We went for day and night treks to check out the local flora & fauna. Christian was insanely good at picking out animals. The lodge apparently is under new management and they were constructing additional new rooms when we were there....

Stayed here two nights on my Intrepid Sacred Land of the Incas tour. Absolutely loved every minute there, a highlight of the trip. Massive rooms and double beds in shared rooms, only has cold showers but that was perfect in the heat. Great traditional 3 course meals. Only has electricity between 6 and 9:30pm but that was never and issue...

We stayed two nights at Explorers Inn during our Intrepid Sacred Land of the Incas tour. I'd tried to find out where other groups had stayed but found it difficult to work out what lodge had been used. We were allocated what appeared to be the honeymoon 'suite' in the new building. It's the room closest to the dining area/bar....

We visited this lodge with our Intrepid Tour. The lodge has a fantastic rustic feel about it with an open dining and communal lounge area. Beds were very comfortable and mosquito nets were provided. Be prepared for cold showers. The activities and Guides were excellent we saw a variety of wildlife, including otters, piranha, Monkeys, Lizzards, Butterflies and snakes. How...

I was there a couple of weeks ago with family and a friend for the 3 days/2 nights package. It took us about 1 hour from Puerto Maldonado to the river and about another hour to the lodge by boat. Our guide was nice and showed us many interesting animals and insects (caimans, monkeys, piranhas, otters, birds, tarantulas, etc.). The...

Wow - what a fantastic place. It takes about three hours (van and motorised canoe) from Puerto Maldonado and you feel as if you are in the middle of the jungle with so many birds, butterflies and monkeys. Being woken by the howlers monkeys at about 4am is the coolest experience - they are sooooo loud and spooky! They were...

Stayed for 3D/2N and had a great experience. The guides and staff were all knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The main lodge was very nice, with plugs to charge your phone and a bar that had happy hour. Food portions were large and, although not the best food I've ever had, did the trick after excursions. Rooms are basic: bathroom with...

Our trip to Explorer's Inn in the Amazon was a great trip. There is no power except in the main lodge and they only have the generator running during the evening meal. Having been a volunteer at Explorer’s Inn ten years ago, I was keen to go back there with my husband this year (July 2015) for our honeymoon. We were not disappointed. As mentioned in previous reviews, the lodge has had difficulties in recent years, but it is now under new management and from what we could tell while we were...
