Location of Walkon Inn is great - just a bit up from the main square - only problem is its uphill (but you get the downhill going back in!) which at altitude to start with can be tricky! The rooms are nice - not as basic as what the price would let on. Quiet and internet works a treat. Staff... More

Corridors smelt of poo. You are not allowed to use the kitchen. Our room was okay but very basic. We could have overlooked this, but they also screwed up in booking our bus tickets to La Paz. We had given them two days notice and paid in advance for this - including a fairly big commission to them. We left... More

I stayed in this hostel last weekend for 1 night, it seems a little out of the way, up a steep hill from the cathedral but thats only 5 minutes brisk walk to calle Lima where all the bars and restaurants are located. Its very quiet location and feels safe. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Seems to... More

We stayed at Walkon Inn Puno in February 2011 and we returned in 2012, for the Fiesta of the Virgin of the Candelaria. The hostel staff were very friendly and helped us with all of our needs, we felt at home. The staff showed all about the activities around Puno and they organized our transportation to and from Juliaca’s airport... More

A fantastic hotel in Puno, comfortable rooms with modern shared bathroom. Helpful staff and a great breakfast. Tea (including coca leaves) and coffee are provided all day. Large TV room with computer and WiFi is free throughout the hotel.

We booked this place for 2 nights through email. 1 night before our trip to the islands and one night after. After arriving they told us that they only had for one night with ensuite bathroom. The second night we had to share which we didn't want and didn't booked. The neighbourhood was very far from the centre and very... More

Stayed for 2 nights either side of a trip to lake titicaca and we were very disappointed. Location is not ideal being quite a few blocks up a steep hill from the main street in puno. It's a breathless walk carrying backpacks, dark at night and when it rains there is a mini river cascading down the pavement and street.... More

The staff at Walkon Inn Puno was very, very helpful. Free tea is available throughout the day and the common lounge area is comfortable. Breakfast is not included but can be purchased for 8 soles per person. It is a simple buffet with bread, jam, yogurt, and eggs. The building is old and could use some renovation. The same goes... We had organized a bus terminal pick-up which was wonderful after a long bus ride from Cusco. I don't think this costs extra - we just paid the cab fare. The room was spacious with a shared private bathroom but no one else was using it so we had it to ourselves. It was a little cold at night and... More
