Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great hotel, great location and very nice staff. Special gratitude to Fermin who was always helpful and provided us with great service. The rooms are big, with heating, hot showers and toiletries. The view from our room was incredible and we would be happy to go back.

Looks smaller from the outside but it’s 10 stories high. Good service, friendly staff and amazing views from the top floor restaurant. The location, is in the heart of Puno next to restaurants and Plaza de Armas

I went for a coffee at midday to the restaurant, and after a few minutes even without finishing my coffee the receptionist invited me to leave the restaurant because they didn’t have any waitress around.

Where to begin. The hotel needs to review their maintenancepolicy and breakfast (poor selection). The hotel is rundown, lots of firehazards (the hairdryer caugth on fire and lightswitches came off the wall). There was a horrible smell in the room. Depending on where your room is located, you will listen to a bar playing music all night, every night. When we returned to our room in the evening, the cleaning people had’nt locked the door to our room!

We stayed there a couple of months ago. The staff was incredibly helpful with transport, answering questions about Puno and other services. The rooms were bright and roomy, and it was very easy to walk to the main tourist area of Puno.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Hotel Qalasaya after trekking the Colca Canyon for three days. We wanted somewhere nice and comfortable after the trek and this is exactly what we got. We were greeted by very friendly, warm and accommodating staff. We had big backpacks with us and our hands were full when we checked in. One of the male staff members (we didn’t catch his name but he couldn’t speak much English) helped us all the way to our room on the 9th floor, opening doors and operating the lift on the way. He was so helpful and we can’t thank him enough for this. We also dealt with a lovely lady named Cynthia on reception. She was so helpful in giving us information about Puno and also booked a restaurant for us one night. She was very pleasant and she is a credit to this wonderful hotel. Our double room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The room was cleaned every day, with the towels replaced each time. The showers are warm and a great size, and the hotel offers free soap and shampoo, as well as a hair dryer. There is also a safe, a fridge and a television. The view from our room on the 9th floor was spectacular. We could see Lake Titicaca and this made for a great scene to wake up to on a morning. The hotel also offers laundry service at S/12 per kilo. We used this and our clothes came back clean and folded. Breakfast is served from 6:30am and is on the 10th floor. We found this a little sparse at times but the staff were always willing to make us eggs and there was a selection of fruit, breads, teas and coffees to choose from. The food was very nice. Sometimes on a nighttime it was a little loud, and you could hear movements within the hotel. Perhaps the walls are a bit thin but this didn’t impact our sleeping too much. It was Puno Week however so this might have been why some of the noise was generated. We had a night bus at 10pm and Cynthia let us stay in the lobby and keep our bags in storage until it was time to go. We were very thankful of this. Overall we absolutely loved our three night stay at Hotel Qalasaya and we would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a nice, comfortable stay at this high altitude city.

The staff of the hotel is very kind and helpful. The rooms have a lot of maintenance problems. The breakfast is okay. The dinner is pretty bad. This hotel is downtown and rundown. It needs better management to oversee repairs, maintenance and insure food quality. No way is it 4 stars.

We encountered very friendly and helpful staff and enjoyed staying at this hotel. The dining room offers a nice view, breakfast is good, and basically all of Puno is in walking distance from there. The hustle and bustle of the pedestrian area cannot be completely shielded from the rooms ;)

Our room on the ninth floor had a beautiful view of the lake. Bed was comfortable. Good hot water, which was important since we were there in July. My only complaint is the wifi inside the room was not good.
